Monitoring the CNS in the OR

This workshop covers different modalities that monitor the brain. The participants will
learn the conceptual and practical aspects of intraoperative neuromonitoring. The
learner will learn how to perform and interpret transcranial Doppler, cerebral oximetry,
EEG and EEG based monitors, and evoked potentials. There will be an emphasis on
issues in monitoring during surgery. The learner will gain an understanding of the
effects of anesthesia and surgery on each monitoring modality.
