LEAF COLLECTION The Department of Public Works collects leaves

LEAF COLLECTION
The Department of Public Works collects leaves each year from October 15th to December 1st.
Residents may put leaves and grass only loosely at the curb and the Borough will remove them.
According to N.J. Stormwater Regulations, leaves must be placed at the curb no closer than ten
(10) feet from a storm drain inlet.
Please do not put brush, twigs or any other foreign matter into these piles. It not only makes the
job more difficult and dangerous, but also contributes to the breakdown of our leaf collection
equipment.
If you choose to bag your leaves, they must be put into biodegradable paper bags only.
Please call the DPW at 201-568-4134 to have them picked up.
Plastic bags will not be collected under any circumstances.
BRUSH, TWIGS AND BRANCHES are collected separately by the garbage contractor, Waste
Industries, under the following conditions only:
Branches – maximum of 3 foot lengths in containers or tied in bundles (all less than 30
pounds) to be stacked neatly at curbside on your regular garbage collection day.
Brush & Twigs – put into reusable container with lid placed at curbside on your regular
garbage collection day.
Call Waste Industries at 201-567-3100 if garbage pickup is missed.
