Selection Policy
1. Selection will be based on picking the best team first:




The 1st XI will be the strongest side of registered players we can field, aiming for
league promotion.
The 2nd XI will be the strongest side of registered players we can field, after
selection of the 1st XI, aiming for league promotion and developing players for the
1st XI.
The 3rd XI (Sunday) will be the strongest side of registered players we can field,
after the selection of the 1st and 2nd XI teams on Saturday. Aiming for league
promotion and developing players for the 2nd XI.
The 4th XI (Saturday 3rd XI) aims to be competitive but much more about
improving our skills and confidence. Aim to promote youth development to serve
current and future playing strength of the club.
2. Rule 1 will apply at all times except in cases where youth development is concerned
in the 3rd or 4th teams. The selection committee reserves the right to choose a
junior/youth player to enhance their cricket development within the club.

4. Selection will be based on:

their normal positions as possible.

the player being dropped to a lower team the week after.
8. Holiday breaks may result in one game in a lower side on return.
9. If a player is dropped, he will be required to play one game in a lower team before
being eligible for selection in the original team from which he was dropped.
