Protoss
Protoss are a powerful and proud people. They
are well known (in their home plane) for their
art, philosophy, honor and fierceness in battle.
They also posses powerful psionic abilities, and
often rely on them heavily in battle.
Personality: protoss are very concervative and
respond badly to changes. They tend to be very
harsh and unfriendly (sometimes even hostile)
towards strangers. A protoss will fight to the
death for goals he believes in, altough he will
most often kill his oponent first in these cases.
The protoss are extremely proud, and will
never expose any weaknesses in the company of
those they do not trust. If someone dares insult
them, they will almost surely defend their honor
with violence. Protoss value self control,
knowledge, and streangth in combat. If they
find most of these virtues in a person, they will
find it easier to trust him.
Physical descriptions: protoss are tall and
strong, standing about 7 ½ to 8 ½ feet tall and
typically weighing about 170 to 240 pounds,
with protoss men slightly taller and heavier
than women. They have a rough, grey skin and
no facial or body hair. Protoss have no mouths,
and they communicate tellepathicly. their eyes
can be either blue, red, or yellow, and they
almost always glow with an inner light. Protoss
wear long robes in dark colours, often
decorated in ancient and mysterious runes.
If they wear any juelery at all, it will always be
made of crystal capable of storing psionic
energies. Protoss reach adulthood at the age of
230 and can live to be over 1300 years old.
Protoss leg structure resembels the one of a
satyr.
Relations: protoss do not trust the other races.
They are practicly the opposite of the adaptive
and feral humans. They find gnomes to be not
serious enough for them, halflings annoying and
half orcs even worse than humans. They get
along well with elves, if they encounter each
other at all, because of their common long lives
and fear of changes, even though elves are a bit
too chaotic for the well controlled mind of the
protoss. Dwarves also meet the protoss
standarts, with their lawful spirits and skill in
combat. The arch-nemesis of the protoss
are the mind flayers, and any protoss that
encounters a mind flayer will instantly
attack him.
Alignment: protoss are almost always
lawful, and almost always good. Accept for
some rare examples (such as the chaotic evil
dark templars)
Lands: protoss live on the plane of limbo,
alongside the githzerai and githyanki. They
have large beautiful cities that are made
almost entirely out of crystal. A protoss city
is almost impossible to conquer, and only
two cities fell throughout their history. Even
those fell only after an extremely harsh
battle, and only to the mightiest of mind
flayer armies.
Religion: protoss worship their own
personal deity, the ancient warrior that has
become a demigod, Adun.
The center of every protoss city is the
citadel of Adun.
Language: protoss always communicated
telepathicly. Thus, they have no language,
and instead they can communicate with
every creature that has a language of its
own that is in a range of 100 feet.
Names: protoss are oftenly named after a
powerful hero or ancestor, and don’t have
many differant names. Males and females
share the same names. A protoss has its first
name, its clan name, and its position in
society. The positions are khali (artisans
and inventors) templars (warriors and
explorers) and judicators (administrators
and leaders)

Protoss First names: Tessadar, Fenix,
Zeratul, Gantrithor and Hathol
Clan names: Sergas, Auriga, Velari, Ara,
Furinax and Shelak
Adventurers: Protoss seek ways to expend
their knowladge of the world. The best way
some can think about is wandering around
and seeing everything through their own
glowing eyes. Some protoss adventurers
seek to expend their psionic potential, and
know that conflict is the best way to achieve
that goal. Others want to learn fighting
techniques from expirienced fighters, and to
practice them enough to realy understand
them. There are those who wander the
world driven by their hate to the mind
flayers, promising to rid the world and all
other worlds of these wreched
beings.










Protoss racial traits
+2 strength +2 intelligence +2
wisdom: protoss are well built, very
sharp minded and posses an
amazing will-power.
Medium-size: as medium size
creatures, protoss has no special
bonuses or panalties.
Protoss base speed is 30 feet.
Darkvision: protoss can see in the
darkness out to 60 feet.


Telepathy: protoss can
communicate with every creature
that has a language that is in a
range of 100 feet.
Courage: protoss do not get
frightened easily. They receive a +2
bonus on saving throws to counter
fear effets. Also, their HD is
considered +2 higher when
determening the DC to the
intimidate skill.
Proficiency: protoss are not
proficient with weapons, unless they
take the path of the soul knife. In
that case they are proficient with the
short sword, long sword and
bastered sword.
Protoss receive a +2 bonus to the
knowledge (history), knowledge
(arcana) and knowledge (psionics)
skills. Protoss spend years studying
and posses a formidable amount of
knowledge.
Protoss shields: protoss use psychic
energy to deflect blows aimed at
them. As long as a protoss remains
conscious, he recieves a +4 armor
bonus to his armor class.
Natural armor: the skin of protoss
hardens as time goes by. A protoss
that has passed the age of 600
recieves a +1 natural armor bonus
to his armor class.
Psionics: protoss posses the
following psionic abilities: call the
mind 1/day, astral traveler 1/day,
conceal thoughts 1/day, my light
(this is actualy a natural ability, not
a psionic. A protoss can light his
eyes as many times per day as he
wishes) and Far hand 1/day. A
protoss of 3rd level or higher can
also cast thought shield 1/day, detect
thoughts 1/day and mental barrier
1/day (actualy improving his own
natural shield). A 9th level protoss
can cast plane shift 1/day.
