Fully Online Classroom • All class time is replace by asynchronous learning • Expectation – Students don’t have to come to class. Challenges of traditional classroom • Students learn at different paces • Limited concept engagement: Not enough time for deeper conversations about important topic Basic principals of flipped classroom: • What is traditionally done in classroom can be done at home. • What is done at home can be done in classroom for deeper learning • In-class time is used for higher-order thinking skills and application to complex problems. It may include collaborative learning, casebased learning, peer instruction and problem sets. • Create active learning experiences for students where the instructor coaches and guides them.
