Make a Difference: One Play Space at a Time Application Have your classroom made‐over as a part of the You‐Tube DIY series: Make a Difference: One Play Space at a time. With only three days and a budget of $500, the challenge is to increase the quality of a classroom environment. One program will be selected to participate. Kate Smith 426‐7181 Ext 319 See the one that started it all here: http://youtu.be/2ksT2j9SUA8 Benefits of Participating: Intensive technical assistance provided at no cost $500 in design enhancements to your space at no cost to you The end result can be used as a marketing tool for your program Participate in a unique way to educate the community regarding the importance of high quality early childhood education Show Requirements: Must have authority to make alterations to the space (painting, mounting, hanging fixtures, etc). Classroom staff must be available to be on camera during all scheduled shoots. Admin staff is highly encouraged to be available. Be able to articulate your thoughts and opinions about what you like and don’t like in the space. Interested in thinking outside the box. Identify at least three volunteers to help with projects, including one person with carpentry skills and access to tools. Children present during scheduled shoots must have signed photo/video releases from their parent/guardian (see attached). Adults present during scheduled shoots must sign photo/video releases. Open to consultation with Producer regarding on camera styling. Child Care Council staff will complete an environmental rating scale on the space (pre & post). Have fun on camera!
