Lanes will be open from 5-7pm. Come after work and bowl for as long, or as little, as
you would like. It will feel like a “Business after 5” event, but with more FUN!
Evening includes bowling, food, participation gift, prizes, fun and more!!!
Special presentations at 6:15pm each night
Celebrate Canada’s birthday by wearing your most Canadian costume
Team photos will be taken and printed for you to take home

Tax receipts provided for all donations over $15 dollars.
We encourage each team to strive to raise $500. There is a $60 minimum per person
to participate. Every $500 raised will help get one child off of the waitlist and into a
meaningful mentoring relationship. All monies raised are designated towards free mentoring
programs we provide to over 270 children and youth annually.

Dear Friends of Big Brothers Big Sisters,
Thank you so much for your interest in participating this year in our annual Bowl For Kids Sake campaign
being held from April 10 – 13th. We wanted to give you a little information so you can understand how
important your participation is.
Every year, our agency provides free mentoring programs to over 270 vulnerable children and youth in our
community. We do this through a variety of programs throughout our community and in our schools. That
number doesn’t include the almost 400 referrals for service and volunteer inquiries we receive annually,
additional programs for kids waiting for service, and multiple scholarships and sponsorships of the extended
families. Our agency is not government funded and we can only do this through the generous physical and
financial support of people like yourself.
Unfortunately, the level of service we provide to our community doesn’t come without a price. Costs
associated with the program range from supplying nutritious snacks, activity bins, volunteer recruitment,
insurance, as well as training and match support by a professional Caseworker for each of those children and
youth mentioned, their families and the volunteers. It costs approximately $650.00 for a youth to
participate in one of our in-school mentoring programs and over $1,000.00 in our community programs.
The demand for the program continues to increase annually. The challenge for us will be to address the
widening gap between what the community needs us to do and what we can afford to do.
Our work is ongoing and, at the time of writing this note, there are over 50 children anxiously waiting to be
matched with caring mentors today. By participating in this event and raising support for our agency, you will
be helping us help more children and youth in our community. Thank you for the investment in them.
