Procedures and Instructions for Online Application 1. University coordinators send emails to [email protected] to nominate student’s name, email address and exchange category (Chinese language/general advanced /senior advanced student) at Fudan. (We CAN only approve online applications with nominations and after our approval students CAN print the PDF application forms generated by the system.) Note: Fudan has the following three exchange categories, please choose correctly. 1) Chinese language student will take designated pure Chinese language courses. 2) General advanced student will take undergraduate-level courses and couldn’t take graduate-level courses. Please refer to course information from www.fao.fudan.edu.cn/exchangein. 3) Senior advanced student will take graduate-level courses and couldn’t take undergraduate-level courses. Course information is available upon request. 2. After email nomination, coordinators ask nominees to complete online application before the online application deadline (April 20 for Fall Semester and October 20 for Spring Semester) according to the following instructions. Please read the following online application instructions carefully and fill in correct information, otherwise applications will not be successfully processed. (a) Online Application website: http://admission.iso.fudan.edu.cn/index_en.html You should apply an account first for the system with your email in order to log in. (b) In “Study Plan” MUST choose “Non-degree programmes”, otherwise your application could not be recognized. (c) In “Degree” please choose (Only one category could be chosen) “Chinese Language Student” if you want to take pure Chinese language courses; “General Advanced Students” if you want to take undergraduate courses; “Senior Advanced Students” if you want to take graduate courses. (d) In “Department” MUST choose “Foreign Affairs Office”. (e) In “Major” MUST choose “Exchange Program”. (f) In “Financial Recourses for Study” MUST choose “Scholarships” and “University Exchange”. If you don’t choose “University Exchange”, you are not regarded as university exchange and will be asked to pay the application fee of RMB 400yuan, which is nonrefundable. (g) In “Guarantors Name and Address” please fill in your coordinator’s name and contact email and in “Home University” please fill in the full English name of your home university, otherwise your application could not be processed. Note: If you provide the incorrect information, your online application will be returned to you. Please correct your information according to the system messages and submit again. If you have any problems during application, please send emails to [email protected]. 3. When you submit the application, the status is “in process”. Please don’t print the application form as the webpage. After the application status turns into “ApplyStatus.wait”, please press the “print” button on the right-hand side of the webpage. Print the application form in PDF format, not the webpage and sign your name on the application form. 4. Students submit the signed application form together with other required materials to the university coordinators and then coordinators send us the following application materials by courier before the materials acceptance deadline: May 15 (Fall Semester) or Nov. 15 (Spring Semester): a. Nomination Letter b. Original Application Form (see “example” on the website) c. two photocopies of valid passport photo page d. official transcript and language proficiency certificate if applicable e. course list (course code + course name) or major information 1) Chinese Language Students don’t need to provide course list. 2) General Advanced Students provide the course list (course code + course name) to be taken at Fudan with student name and signature. (visit http://www.fao.fudan.edu.cn/exchangein for English-taught courses and http://www.jwc.fudan.edu.cn/s/67/t/179/p/1/c/2693/list.htm for Chinese-taught courses) 3) Senior Advanced Students provide major information or research field during exchange at Fudan with student name and signature. (Notes: It’s very important to provide some back-up courses in case full booking.) 5.
