HABITAT PROJECT – Due October 31st, 2016
You have two choices for your habitat project. You can either create a wanted
advertisement describing what kind of habitat your animal needs. Or, you can
create a model of the habitat your animal would live in. Be creative in your
design and be ready to share it with the class.
Choice 1: Wanted Ad: Suitable Habitat
1) choose an animal
2) find the following information to write an ad describing the ideal habitat for
your animal.
Your ad should include:
- types of food preferred
- water source (where do they get their water?)
- shelter (what do they use to stay safe?)
-anything that may be dangerous for your animal (think predators or prey)
Example of an advertisement: use a piece of bristol board to create a poster in
the form of a “Wanted Ad.”
Choice 2: Model of your animal’s habitat
1) Choose an animal
2) Include the following information in your model:
- Types of food preferred
- Water source (show where they find their water)
- Shelter (include a type of shelter in your model)
- Include a predator/prey or anything dangerous for your animal.
- Be able to describe what your habitat model shows.
Examples of a habitat model: Use an old shoebox to build your animal’s habitat.
