The new network for small primary schools

The new network for small primary schools
We recognise that when you have a small number of
computers you need a network that is easy to use and takes
little time to manage. That’s why we’ve introduced CC4 Store,
our great new network for small primary schools.
What is CC4 Store?
CC4 Store is a simple-to-use network that
requires a low level of management. It
allows you to manage users and printers
on the network without the need for any
additional functionality such as station or
application management. It also provides
access to home and shared areas,
printers and the Internet. You can expand
and develop your network as your ICT
requirements increase, by adding more
computers as you go.
CC4 Store has been designed to be easy
to set up and maintain, allowing you to
spend time getting the most out of your ICT
resources in the classroom.
What will CC4 Store allow me to do?
Anti-virus
Your CC4 Store server and all computers on the
CC4 Store network will be protected against
viruses in order to safeguard your network.
Use your existing equipment
CC4 Store works with Microsoft Windows XP or
Windows 7 computers, enabling you to grow
your network as well as making use of past
investments.
Access the Internet
Users can access the Internet from any
computer on the network. This means you can
access email and the Internet from anywhere
around the school.
Backup
As each user saves an increasing amount
of work on the central location, it is really
important to back this information up.
Every week CC4 Store takes a complete
backup of all user and system data to a
removable hard drive (RDX cartridge) using the
RM Backup application.
Share files and store work centrally
CC4 Store allows pupils and staff to save work
to a central area so it can be accessed from
any computer on the network. This means that
users can work from any computer around the
school and still access their work without the
need for USB sticks.
Teachers can also share work securely in
a password protected area, allowing the
safe sharing of sensitive documents such as
assessment data.
Access printers
Network printing makes better use of your
resources, because one printer can be
shared by many users. Network printers can
even be assigned to particular locations in
your school, so that a user‘s print out is sent
to the nearest printer that he or she is
allowed to use.

for my school?

folders or even USB sticks
• CC4 Store is priced especially to help meet
small school needs
• Using simple management tools like bulk
user creation will reduce management time
• Easy access to the Internet and network
printers makes a great end user experience
• Simple user and printer management
means low management and support
overheads
Support & Training
CC4 Store support ensures that you have
peace of mind; you can contact RM’s awardwinning support services when you need to,
and with standard support, all your service
release updates are taken care of remotely.
It takes the pressure off teaching staff, as
they are safe in the knowledge that technical
experts are on hand to both diagnose and
resolve incidents.
Training is also included in the price of the
support contract and will be delivered online.
You will have unlimited access to the training
for the lifetime of the support contract.
Head Teacher Susan Gopall wanted
to develop a system that was easy
to use and that required very little
maintenance. The school needed
a system that was linked and
accessible from all areas and sought
to improve storage of pupils’ work.
The school also aims to allow
children more independence
and variety within their ICT work,
through the use of individual
passwords and for staff to use
shared areas within the system.
Susan says, “CC4 Store was
fully installed and tested by RM
Education. It is easy to use and
requires very little ICT expertise to
manage the system. The quality
of the support we have received is
excellent and the process of logging
on is trouble free and simple.”
