USN INCREASES AMBASSADOR INVESTMENT IN 2011
USN, South Africa’s largest sport and healthy lifestyle nutrition supplement brand,
has increased its investment in partnerships with influential ambassadors for 2011.
Most of the USN ambassadors are professional sportsmen and women who rely on
premium nutrition supplementation to help them perform at their best.
USN’s sports performance supplements benefit a wide range of sports, including
team and individual sports as well as explosive and endurance disciplines. The
partnership with these ambassadors gives USN all-important access to real-world
product testing and refinement, giving USN the necessary credibility in an industry
that’s sometimes viewed with suspicion.
Team ambassadors include The Golden Lions and Blue Bulls rugby teams, Bonitas
professional men’s road cycling team., Team USN professional women’s cycling
team and the Change-a-Life Academy, which develops rural athletes in canoeing,
running, mountain biking and triathlon.
Individual ambassadors include multiple mountain bike world championship
medallist, Burry Stander, multiple South African road cycling champion, Cherise
Taylor, bodybuilding icon Shameen Adams, Springbok and Blue Bulls No. 8, Pierre
Spies, star South African men’s hockey team striker, Justin Reid Ross, Proteas
medium/fast bowler Wayne Parnell and Dusi Canoe Marathon legend, Martin
Dreyer
“USN ambassadors are an integral part of the product formulation and fine-tuning
processes,” explained Anton de Villiers, USN Marketing Manager. “Our products
offer cutting edge, scientifically engineered formulations, but they require human
feedback and that’s where our ambassadors play an important role.”
In collaboration with international experts, USN’s R&D team is constantly looking
for breakthrough products or to refine existing products to be more effective. By
having USN ambassadors at the top of their sport on hand to be able to test and
review the products in the most demanding conditions, USN achieves an important
balance between the laboratory and the field of play.
“We align USN with sportsmen and women who share our commitment to
excellence and who show that something special that separates them from their
contemporaries. Those who aren’t afraid to strive to achieve more. Those that have
passion and dedication. Those are USN ambassador material,” said De Villiers.
