Sport Clubs Marketing Presentation – 8/22/12 Creating a Club Image – Navigating University Marketing for Your Club on Campus Allyson Fulton, Senior Assistant Director of Marketing and Public Relations – Campus Recreation Laura Kinch, Assistant Director of Marketing and Communications – Student Affairs Creating a Look for Your Club Try and create a ‘look’ for your club to use for your marketing materials that you use consistently throughout a semester or academic year. Keep the artwork and wording consistent, to create a recognizable brand. Types of Marketing Materials Think about which type of material is best suited for the audience that you want to reach. Flyers, posters, emails, Facbook/Twitter, using promotional items? Writing Copy Be sure to include all important information in your copy like dates, times, and locations of events. Be sure to include contact information on your marketing materials, this would include a phone number or link to the Sport Clubs website, where readers can obtain more information. It’s best to write out your copy before you begin designing your marketing material. Artwork/Photos Use websites where you can download images for free like StockExchange or the UT Arlington Publications Gallery. Try not to use images from Google. You should always try and incorporate blue and orange into your marketing material. If you are creating materials for a larger-signature event for your program, the colors should be primarily blue, orange, and white. UT Arlington Logos All UT Arlington logos (institutional logo/mascot mark) can be viewed on the Identity Guideline website. Please note that the University has very specific guidelines on how the logos can be used. None of the logos can be altered in any way or incorporated into other artwork. They need to be stand alone elements only. To review the guidelines, please visit www.uta.edu/ucomm/identity. To download any of the logos, please contact Stephanie McAlpine. UT Arlington Colors To view the primary color palate for UT Arlington, visit www.uta.edu/ucomm/identity/color. The Pantone, RGB, Hex, etc. codes are all listed on this website, so that you can match the colors on your marketing materials.
