Hannah Higgins holds a master’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering. She
currently works at Boeing on the 777X project. For this project, she worked
primarily on the carbon fiber composite fabrication systems. She helped develop
the automated fiber placement machines, giant robots that lay down composite
material one strip at a time to build the wings of the plane.
Eric Eckstein received a PhD from the University of Bristol for his work in
thermally actuated morphing structures. He currently serves as a structures
engineer for Blue Origin. Blue Origin designs, builds and operates private
spacecraft and runs one of the only privately owned launch sites.
Amanda Kotchon received her MSc in Mechanical Engineering from the
University of Alberta developing an optical measurement system for detecting
tire damage. She currently works at Lund Engineering which designs and builds
custom manufacturing and industrial equipment. She is currently designing an
accurate robotic machining platform for carbon fiber layup.
Alexander Truesdale Perry holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
He works at Kymeta which designs and build satellite antenna systems for
applications in many different industries including Agriculture, Mining,
Construction, Rail, Naval, and Air.
Albert Engel earned his Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering and
Geomechanics from Stanford. During his professional career, he contributed to
research in performance earthquake design. He worked previously for Magnusson
Klemencic Associates designing high rise residential towers.
