HICURA – THE NEXT STEP
Monopolar and standard hand instruments
HICURA is the new generation of laparoscopic hand instruments following the HiQ+ line. HICURA offers a modular system
consisting of a wide range of product offerings of different lengths, shafts, handles, and jaws to accommodate surgeon’s
needs. The three part design enables individual replacement of worn out components. There are no losable spare parts in the
system and the possibility of a one part sterilization for 250 mm and 330 mm lengths turns HICURA into smart solution for
every OR.
High quality, high performance – HICURA
HICURA was developed with the goal to improve handling and safety of the instruments. HICURA is designed for customer’s
comfort and usability during surgery allowing multiple hand positions for continuously changing surgical needs.
Different hands – Different needs
HICURA offers two different handle sizes. Size M for small to medium hands and
size L for medium to large hands. HICURA handles are designed for customer’s
comfort and usability during laparoscopy. Depending on the preferences and the
field of application handles with ratchet, with deactivatable ratchet or without
ratchet are available.
Adapted jaws mechanism
The two dedicated joint mechanism CAM and SL gives the surgeon adapted tissue
control during grasping and dissection. Optimized tissue manipulation with the
CAM grasping and the SL dissection mechanism: The CAM mechanism provides
higher grasping forces and is therefore designed for firm grasping whereas
the SL mechanism is designed for optimized dissection due a larger opening
angle of the jaws.
Assembling – There is no easier way “just click it”

The modular system of HICURA affords an intuitive and easy assembling in only
three steps. An acoustic feedback confirms that the instruments was assembled
correctly. Furthermore no assembling of HICURA instruments in the OR is
necessary thanks to the possibility of steam sterilization of 250 mm and 330 mm
HICURA versions in assembled position.

The new design of th rotation knob allows easy and precise rotation of the jaws

HICURA BIPOLAR – RELIABLE AND SAFE
HICURA bipolar instruments have a special joint design that allows strong grasping and precise dissection just as their
monopolar counterparts. In addition, a reliable and safe bipolar coagulation is possible even in challenging situations.
HICURA bipolar instruments thus unify monoplar mechanical characteristics with safe bipolar coagulation.
Color coding for clear instrument identification
HICURA bipolar hand instruments are color coded at the handle and at the rotation
wheel. The inserts have a white insulation, too. This allows a quick identification of
all bipolar components.

HICURA offers a huge variety on modular parts. There are eight handles in different sizes, four shafts and more than
forty different jaws inserts available in different lengths. Depending on the surgeon’s preferences and on the procedure
performed, basic instrumentation kits can be recommended for every application field.

Kit for Urology
The General Surgery kit includes the hand instruments which are most useful
in standard laparoscopic procedures as cholezystectomy, hernia repair or
appendectomy for example.
The laproscopic Urology kit contains several bipolar instruments and is
applied for nephrectomies, adrenalectomies for instance.
