Three Cheers for our Playground Volunteers
On Saturday, October 4, 2014, several parents and children gave the
gift of themselves by planting bulbs in our playground garden.
Although, it was cool and rainy, everyone had a great time. We were
blessed to have Mrs. Catherine Pipes Despujols and Mr. John
Despujols organized this family event. We were planning to work
from 9:00 A.M. – 10:30 A.M. but our dedicated families were still
working after 4:00 P.M. planting, building and making positive
changes to our playground. Mr. Richard Connelly and Mrs. Michelle
Connelly were a great help in teaching the children how to plant the
bulbs. Mr. Gerard Green and Mrs. Meredith Agen seem to be experts
in this area as well. We are truly grateful to Mr. Adam Castoreno and Mrs.Nicole Castoreno who
took
wonderful pictures of this event and to Mrs. Maria Parodi Undurrago,
Mrs. Kimberly Carvalho-Moreira, and Natalia Paiva Sousa who
helped the children plant. And of course we must say a great
big thank you to all the children who participated: Inaki
Undurraga, Gabriella Moreira, Catherine (Cate) Despujois, Elise
Despujois, Nuala Green, Rowan Green, Madison Connelly,
Sean Connelly, Adelaide Castoreno, Anabelle Castoreno, and
Evan Sousa. In spring it will be exciting to see a variety of
colorful tulips, daffodils, crocuses and hyacinths.
Once again, I extend to you all my personal thanks and sincere appreciation. Your commitment
and dedication have been a blessing to our school.
