प्रमुख विशेषताएँ/Highlights:
1.1
Double Line between Bethuadahari and Plassey in Lalgola section for a
stretch of 22.51 km has been commissioned w.e.f. 31-3-15. During the year
2014-15 doubling of 82.39 Km has been commissioned in three sections of
the Division.
1.2
Up to the month of MAR’15 punctuality percentage of Mail/Exp , Passenger
and EMU trains was 98.1, 93.3 & 97.8 as against 96.5, 86.4 & 97.0
respectively over corresponding period of last year showing 1.7%, 8.0% &
0.8% improvement for Mai/Exp. , Passenger & EMU trains respectively.

During the month of MAR’15 revenue earning goods loading of the Division
stood at 215.3 wagons/day as against 186.1 wagons/day achieved in the
corresponding period of last year an improvement of 15.7% over last year &
8.2% over target. Up to MAR’15 revenue earning goods loading was 171.8
wagons/day as against 159.4 wagons/day achieved up to MAR’14 an
improvement of 7.8% & 6.5% over last year & over target respectively. This is
the highest ever achieved in Sealdah Division.

One trip of 03131 UP / 03132 DN Kolkata – Gorakhpur – Asansoland 03111
UP / 03112 DN Kolkata – Barauni, Janasadharan Express special trainswere
run on 02.03.15 & 04-03-15 to clear extra rush during Holi festival.

13151 UP /13152 DN Kolkata – Jammu tawi Express has been temporarily
augmented by one WGACCN from 08.03.15 to 31.03.15.

One extra scratch rake has been formed with same coach composition as that
of 13131/13132, KOAA – Anand Vihar Express within our coach holding for
utilization due to frequent abnormal late arrival of down trains as to avoid
rescheduling or late start from Kolkata.

Up to March this year, the Division has run more no. of extra trains and has
augmented existing trains as under.

Inter Divisional cultural competition was held on 19 thand 20th March/15 at
Dr.B.C.Institute/Sealdah. 62 candidates of all divisions and workshops of
E.Rly. participated in the final round of competition. The winners have been
awarded by GM in the presence of other senior Officers of E.Rly.

During the month, 08 establishment related Court cases have been disposed
at different courts and all the cases have gone in favour of Railway.

Following special activities were organized by B.R.Singh Hospital during
March 2015:
i)
Executive Health Check up for Officer of E.R/SDAH Divn. on 07-3-15, 10-315,14-3-15 and 16-3-15.
Executive Health Check up by FP Health Unit was held on 20-03-15.
Multipurpose Health drive Programme at BNJ Health Unit on 04-03-15,
RHA Health Unit on 12-03-15and TRS/Carshed/SPR on 18-03-15.

SUBURBAN PASSENGERS:
a) उपनगरीय यावियों की सं./
No. of Suburban Passengers :
5.585 Crore Suburban Passengers were carried by the division during the
month of March ’15. It was 1.82% less than the corresponding month of
previous year. 65.462 Crore Suburban Passengers were carried by the
division upto the month of March ’15. It was 3.71% and 2.52 Crore
passengers less than the corresponding period of previous year. During this
period, 44,026 nos. of ‘IZZAT’ MST have been sold, compared to 8,09,452
nos. during the corresponding period of previous year. Growth of Suburban
Passenger without MST (including IZZAT) was 2.62% for the month of March
’15 and 4.26% upto the month of March ’15.

Rs. 32.646 Crore was earned from Suburban Passengers during the month of
March ’15. It was 7.02% higher than the corresponding month of previous
year. Rs. 376.835 Crore was earned from Suburban Passengers upto the
month of March ’15. It was 7.65 % higher and Rs. 26.791 Crore more than the
corresponding period of previous year.
NON-SUBURBAN PASSENGER:
a)
गैर-उपनगरीय यािी/No. of Non-Suburban Passengers:
0.327 Crore Non-Suburban Passenger were carried by the division during the
month of March ’15. It was 5.05% more than the corresponding month of
previous year. Upto the month of March ’15, 3.537 Crore Non-Suburban
Passengers were carried by the division which was 0.87% and 0.03 Crore
passengers more than the corresponding period of previous year. Growth of
Non-Suburban Passenger without MST (including IZZAT) was 4.54% for the
month of March ’15 and 2.48 % upto the month of March ’15.
b)
गैर-उपनगरीय यावियों से प्राप्त आय/Non-Suburban Passenger Earnings :
Rs. 46.974 Crore was earned from Non-Suburban Passengers during the
month of March ’15. It was 15.22% more than the corresponding month of
previous year. Rs.
465.338 Crore was earned from Non-Suburban
Passengers upto the month of March ’15. It was 15.68% higher and Rs.
63.089 Crore more than the corresponding period of previous year. Growth of
Non-Suburban Passenger Earnings excluding PRS was 14.43% for the month
of March ’15 and 13.36% upto the month of March ’15.
TOTAL PASSENGERS

5.911 Crore Passengers (Suburban & Non-Suburban) were carried by the
division during the month of March’15. It was 1.47% less than the
corresponding month of previous year. 68.999 Crore Passengers (Suburban
& Non-Suburban) were carried by the division upto the month of March ’15. It
was 3.49% and 2.494 Crore passengers less than the corresponding period of
previous year. During this period, 44,026 nos. of ‘IZZAT’ MSTs have been
sold, compared to 8,09,452 nos. during the corresponding period of previous
year. Growth of Total Passenger without MSTs (including IZZAT) was 2.82%
for the month of March ’15 and 4.52% upto the month of March ’15.
b)
यावियों से प्राप्त कु ल आय (उपनगरीय एिं गैर-उपनगरीय)/Total Passenger Earnings
(Suburban & Non-Suburban):
Rs. 79.620 Crore was earned from Total Passengers (Suburban & NonSuburban) during the month of March ’15. It was 11.71% more than the
corresponding month of previous year. Upto the month of March’15, Rs.
842.173 Crore was earned from Passenger (Suburban & Non-Suburban). It

was 11.95% higher and Rs. 89.88 Crore more than the corresponding period
of previous year.

ं आय/OTHER COACHING EARNINGS:
Rs. 6.438 Crore was earned from ‘Other Coaching’ during the month of
March’15. It was 6.32 % less than the corresponding month of previous year.
Accounts adjustment of Rs. 0.43 Crore received during this month. In Mar’14
i.e. last year Rs. 28.50 were earned through Election Spl. Train originated
from Kolkata Terminal. Rs. 77.789 Crore was earned from ‘Other Coaching’
upto the month of March’15. It was 26.98% less and Rs. 28.743 Crore less
than the corresponding period of previous year. It is due to less loading of
leased VPs from Sealdah and Kolkata Terminal. Moreover less number of
special trains were booked from different stations of Sealdah division
compared to previous year.
फु टकर आय/ SUNDRY EARNINGS
:
Rs. 0.641 Crore was earned from ‘Sundry’ during the month of March’15. It
was 8.85 % less than the corresponding month of previous year. Rs. 28.568
Crore was earned from ‘Sundry’ upto the month of March’15. It was 10% and
Rs. 2.598 Crore more than the corresponding period of previous year.
माल यातायात से प्राप्त आय/GOODS EARNINGS :
Rs. 35.437 Crore was earned from Goods during the month of March’15. It
was 45.66% more than the corresponding month of previous year. Rs.
275.296 Crore was earned from Goods loading upto the month of March’15. It
was 5.91 % and Rs. 15.367 Crore more than the corresponding period of
previous year.

12 additional JTBS counters have been commissioned at 12 stations viz.
TKNR, DDC, MIJ, BT, SPR, KYI, SMX, LGL, DTK, SNR, BIRA & HB in this
financial year 2014-15 leading to total no. of 47 JTBS at 30 stations.

During the current financial year 25 no. of ATVM facilitators have been
appointed at 21 locations.

110 Gunny bags containing Old Commercial have been records disposed off
during this month with cumulative progress of 279 bags of old records.

12.5 Lakhs of old and surplus 5 digit tickets disposed off during this month
with cumulative progress of 54.78 Lakhs.

Electrical/TRS
विजली/क स्टॉ/Electrical/TRS:
Highlights for the month of March 2015:
 As per directive of GM/E.Rly distribution of walkie-Talkie set among loco pilots on
pooling system has been started in CCR SDAH North and South W.E.F 03-03-15
and 27-03-15 respectively for better utilization.
 To obviate inconvenience to the daily commuters due to political rally at brigade
parade ground at Kolkata, 04 (four) special EMU trains have been run in CGSDAH-CG and SDAH-LKPR/NMK/SDAH on 08-03-15 .
Highlights for 2014-15
i)
Dry Sweeping & mechanized washing of EMU rakes has been restarted at
NKG,BT& SPR through outsourcing.
ii)
Existing condemned Armada Zeep has been disposed off by NKG on as is
where basis.
iii)
Line failure cases have been reduces to 65 nos. in the year 2014-15 from the
102 nos. in previous year 2013-14. Also number of Punctuality loss cases
have came down from 227 in 2013-14 to only 118 in 2014-15.
iv)
To prevent failure in axle bearing, metal content test of grease in axle box
bearing has been introduced in all three carsheds of division. Moreover to
reduce number of schedule rake withdrawal, UST schedule has been merged
with IC inspection.
v)
To intimate motorman regarding next stoppage station while driving gallop
locals, additional speakers have been provided in both end diving cabs in the
three nos newly commissioned M/S TWL built rakes along with software
modification to separately enter galloping train data. This will be very useful in
avoiding platform overshooting cases.
vi)
BA voltage testing portable kit of 18 Amps load has been developed at BT
EMU Carshed. to test the EMU batteries internal resistance in situ position
during IA/IC.

vii)
Competency certificates have been issued to 53 Nos. mechanical staff for
checking under gear equipments& 27 nos. of staff for wheel checking. In
addition to that competency certificate also issued to the out station staff for
31 point checking.
viii)
One week full time training course for mechanical aspects of EMU/MEMU
maintenance has been organized. Total 155 nos. staff have been trained
ix)
Existing compressor governor(CG1) micro switch(switch element)0.5 amp
110V DC has been replaced with higher rating micro switch 10 amp 125 V DC
as per RDSO modification sheet No EMU/0068(Rev-0)-2014 dated
13.02.2014 in all the units.
x)
Modification of OL5,6 by paralleling both interlock as discussed and
approved in the last MSG ,has been completed in all EMU and MEMU
motor coaches.
xi)
Modification of EFARA-II circuit as RDSO Modification sheet No
RDSO/PE/MS/EMU/0070(Rev-.0)-2014 May 2014 has been done in all
EMU/MEMU Motor coaches with Pyro Sensor make EFRA-II circuit.
xii)
Nylon cap for Traction Motor armature shaft has been procured and being
provided to improve pinion life.

xiii)
To ensure proper earthing during welding, return path of welding cable has
been done in one inspection lines at NKG,BT,SPR EMU Carshed Rest
lines will completed after availability of cable.
xiv)
Painting of 3-way isolating cock for horn has been done in all rakes for easy
identification and trouble shooting of LPPs.
xv)
One additional push to talk switch provided on the guard side of
EMU/MEMU driving cab to facilitate guard to inform the Motor man while
approaching stoppage station in galloping local. This will help to reduce PF
over shooting cases. As on date these have been provided in 42 rakes.
xvi)
Based on last two year failures Electrical, Pneumatic Mechanical action
plan have been prepared & circulated to all carsheds.
xvii)
To reduce the on line brake binding cases, one separate action plan has
been made and implemented. In this action plan a unique type of testing
has been included for pre-detection of defective EP unit.

xviii)
Software for issuing Job card has been prepared & maintained in all three
carshes (NKG,BT,SPR) of SDAH division.
xix)
DI checklist has already been prepared & circulated for checking off POH
rake before dispatch it to division.
xx)
Checking of Panto support rod assembly spring tension by using ten(10)kg
dead weight has been introduce in all carshed to improve the reliability of
pantograph.
xxi)
Mili-volt drop test has been re-introduce to reduce the fault occurred due to
bad contact.
xxii)
To prevent opening of look out glass fixation, in all Jessop make ASS
driving Motor coaches single wide look out glass has been secured by
providing aluminum channel and cover molding.
Other Achievements in the Year 2014-15:
 Two numbers (One pair) SDAH-LGL-SDAH (53175/53172) Diesel hauled train
has been converted to electric w.e.f 28.06.2014 vide CPTM/KKK’s Fax no E0163/6/14 date 18.04.2014 . Another Six numbers (three pair) LGL –RHA
diesel conventional train services numbered as 53151/53152,53153/53154
and 53155/53156 have been converted into electric by MEMU rake
renumbered as 63133/63134,63135/63136 and 63137/63138 with effect from
01-02-15 vide CPTM/KKK letter No TC/96/229/Part II dated 29-01-15.
 Unified crew lobby at CCR/NH has started functioning from 16-02-15. Electric
and Diesel crew with guard are booked through this lobby.
 Naihati based crew has been given learning road in “Y” path for better utilization
of crew as well as to increase flexibility of crews at BWN. More over LPG of DDJ
have been provided learning road for BMG carshed and HWH PF for
departmental loco movement as demanded by HWH division.
 Software has been developed departmentally for the use of CLIs to analyze
ESMON data for checking over speeding of the train while entering at PF.
 Working time table has train schedule for many trains on a single page with
small font. To facilitate motorman to know the stoppages of galloping trains, a
special booklet containing time schedule and stoppages of each galloping train
in an easy to read font on a single page has been provided to all motorman.
This will help in reducing platform over shooting incidences.
 Modified Signal Location Chart in Booklet form consisting of location of First
Stop Signal & other Signals of all stations of this division has been reissued to
all Loco Pilots of this division under CCCR/SDAH & CCCR/DDJ for awareness
of the crew for signal location specially in Foggy weather.
 All Land Lines & CUG Mobile numbers of Control & Stations in this Division has
been up loaded in the CUG SIM supplied to the Loco Pilots of this division so

that during emergency they can talk to Control/Station without any delay in
searching mobile/Land line numbers of Control/Stations vide Rail Board’s

 In order to meet the promotional vacancies following category of Running staff
promoted during the year 2014-15.
a) LPP to LPM - 04, b) LPG to LPP- 23, c) LPS to LPG- 43 d) ALP toLPS- 99
e) LPP to CLI - 08 nos.
 Unwired buffer line in NKG trip shed has been wired by TRD in this month. This
will facilitate multi Loco shunting as well as eliminate the chances of Panto
breakage due Loco entering unwired section by mistake.
 Division wise list of obstructed signals along with spotting location have been
made and circulated among the loco pilots and assistant loco pilots for their
awareness and better knowledge of location of the obstructed signals to avoid
SPAD cases pending rectification of these signals.
 To reduce the duty hour of loco pilots in lieu of shunting work after arrival at
KRP, Two LPS have been posted at KRP for the shunting work .This will
minimize late start of morning passenger trains from Lalgola due to inadequate
out station rest of crews.
 To curb instances of crew long hours in late night for want of local trains, pick up
van is now being utilized for outgoing crew from loco shutdown locations.
 GDR super checking has been introduced at different yards of Sealdah division
by providing CLIs.
 Bi-Lingual printed Cab pass has been introduced in the Division.
2.3
विजली/ Electrical/TRD:
a)
Due to high power factor (PF) of traction power supply in Sealdah division, a
rebate of Rs. 16.92 lakhs have been achieved in the energy bill from
WBSEDCL for the month of Feb’15. Total rebate achieved during the year is
Rs 152.46 lakhs in 11 month.
b)
.1068 MTs non-ferrous material and has been deposited at HLR/Scrap yard
during March’15. This office has deposited 39.5196 MT non-ferrous materials
against target 45 MT.

To prevent failure of old and over aged contact wire brass ending connector,
01 no. brass ending connector of contact wire has been replaced by G. I.
ending connector at loc. no. 55/23 during March’15.
f)
To improve the reliability of OHE, 04 nos. aluminum connector of isolator no.
SM-718 (CP/1010/1) & SM-715( CP/1017) has been replaced by providing 18
mm bus bar at CP during March’15.
g)
To improved reliability of OHE, feeder tail anchor has been replaced by
providing contact and catenary wire at loc. no. 8/26, 8/25 at JDP during
March’15.
h)
To improve the reliability of OHE, 06 nos. contact wire splice (make – KF) has
been replaced at loc. no. 44/13 (02 nos.), 44/3 (01 no.), 44/15 -44/19 and 0/60
in between section SPR- CG and SDAH(S)- BLN section during March’15.
i)
01 no. failure prone 9-Ton anchor insulator have been replaced at loc. no.
27/1 ((NGK/Japan – 1961) by composite 9-Ton insulator in BT- BNJ section
during March ’14.
j)
As a precautionary measure, 02 nos. contact to Catenary wire ending joint at
OOR OHE have been replaced at loc. no. 27/27 – 27/31 N in between BRP –
DH & KNJ – LGL section during March’15.
k)
To prevent the failure of contact wire from RRA clamp, 168 nos. RRA clamp
has been checked by magnify glass during March’15.
l)
To improve reliability of OHE, 728 nos. ATDs (520 nos. 3 pulley ATDs and
208 nos. 5 pulley ) free movement has been checked by launched a special
drive during March’15.

m)
For enhancement of OHE reliability, 05 nos. overaged& damaged ATD (5
pulley/3 pulley small) have been converted into 3 pulley modified (spoke) type
ATD at RHA (04 nos.), BT (01 no.) depot jurisdiction during March’15.
n)
From safety point of view & for increasing of OHE reliability, 120.54 TKM OHE
has been checked by thermo vision camera during March’ 15.
o)
For improvement of reliability of OHE, 29 nos. old & over aged cantilever
assembly have been replaced during March ’15.
p)
03 no. 220 KVAR, 8KV capacitor Bank unit has been replaced at SPR/FP
(New capacitor Bank) due to seepage of oil during March’15.
q)
To prevent the failure of Pin type pedestal insulator, 01 no. has been replaced
by solid core pedestal insulator near KYI/SP during March’15.
r)
To prevent failure of feeder wire, damaged feeder wire (approx- 4 m) has
been replaced at TGH/GSS against feeder no-4 during March’15.
s)
To prevent failure of connector, capacitor bank feed connector (aluminum
connector ID-6830) at ASKR/FP has been replaced by copper bus bar and
connector Id-6311 during March’15.
t)
To improve reliability of feeding post at ASKR/FP, Aluminum bus bar
arrangement of CB-508 at ASKR/FP feeder side has been modified by
additional bus bar and connector ID-6450 during March’15.
u)
Feeder protection relay at LKPR/FP of CB-513, CB-514 & at SPR/FP CB-515
(Car shed CB) has been checked during March ’15, with the help of
secondary injection kit.
v)
At RHA the down yard, Marshalling yard & RHA car shed was connected with
DN Main line, since electrification. Severe inconvenience was felt during
failure in yard line, the DN main line was also got affected. This problem has
been shorted out on permanent basis by providing five nos. section insulator
in between Yard line & DN/main line . One no. section insulator which was
situated on DN/Main line at PF-2 has been dismantled. At present RHA car
shed ,marshalling yard & DN/Yard all are different/individual elementary
section & there is not interference between DN Main line & Yard line.

विजली/सामान्य Electrical/General:
i)
Newly constructed Dormitory building (Capacity 50 bed) at B. R. Singh
Hospital has been electrified with 26 nos. ceiling fans, 8 nos. exhaust fan, 10
nos. night lamp & 46 nos. (1x28W) T-5 fittings.
ii)
One Distribution Sub-station with single Transformer of 250 KVA, 6KV/415V
along with 1 HT & 1 LT panel has been commissioned at New Sickline,
Sealdah for additional load of newly constructed shed.
iii)
New DG set of capacity 15 KVA, make: Kirloskar has been installed at
Ranaghat ART.

iv)
3 Nos. HS Pump of capacity 18000 GPH x 80ft Hd; 20 HP each, make:
Kirloskar have been commissioned at Gholsapur swimming pool.
v)
Energy consumption pattern of this division is given below:
Saving of this month is 4.64 %, despite increase in overall load about 515.63
KW, i.e. 1.95% than previous year, at stations due to full Platform shelter,
addition of new stations, increase in no. of platform due to doubling work &
introducing of BGB Bogie Factory. Cumulative comparative figure is tabulated
below.

जैव शौचालय प्रवाह परीक्षण प्रयोगशाला का उद्घाटन /Inauguration of Bio-Toilet Effluent
Testing Laboratory :
Presently in Sealdah division 124 coaches are running, fitted with 441 BioDigester tanks. To evaluate the performance parameter of effluent of BioDigester Toilet system, a Bio-Toilet Effluent Testing Laboratoryhas been
commissionedat New Coaching complex Sealdah. The following test as
stipulated by CAMTECH GWL are to be conducted.
pH Value, Total Solid Test, Total dissolve solid test, Total volatile Solid test.

भारत-िांग्लादेश मैत्री एक्सप्रेस का संचालन (2 दिन से 3 दिन दकया गया)/Introduction of
Indo-Bangladesh Maitree Express (Frequency increased from 2 days to
3 days)
Frequency of Indo-Bangladesh Maitree Express has been increased to triweekly from bi-weekly.
iii)
कॉनकॉर / माजेरहाट में स्र्कावट को न्यूनतम करने के ललए 24 घंटा कायय प्रणाली की सुरुवात /
Introduction of round the clock shifts at Concor/MJT for minimizing
detention.
Round the clock shifts at Concor/MJT has been started from 02/06/14.After
starting night shift at Concor/MJT from 02/06/14 detention of load for

Modification of guard emergency brake valve of SLR/SLRD/LR
Non working guard lobby of mail/express train has been modified to avoid
detention due to drop of air pressure resulting from falling off of haphazardly
loaded parcels.
iv)
हैंडिल वााँश बेसिन के पाि लगाया गया/Hand Hold provided near Wash basin in
Rajdhani Express.

crew booking lobby on 23.03.15 & 25.03.15 respectively. A good nos.
of running staff with Officers, inspectors and supervisors were attended
the seminars. The following items were discussed about – SPAD, IBP,
Isolation of Traction Motor, Engine man ship(Follow AFI, Load Meter, BP,
BC pressure before opening throttle operation),Safety circular no.30 &
GR/SR-3.78 & GR/SR Correction Slip no.25 & 26 and use of Fire
Extinguisher.

During the month of MAR’15, the weight of revenue goods loading was 0.264
MT as against 0.222 MT achieved in the corresponding period of last year,
which has improved 18.9 % over last year & is same with the target.
Cumulative weight of revenue goods loading up to MAR’15 was 2.261 MT in
compare with 2.158 MT achieved up to the corresponding period of last year
showing 4.8% improvement over last year. The cumulative weight of revenue
goods loading 2.261 MT is highest ever since last 10 years.

During this month Loading of container wagons/day was 111.3 as against
102.8 wagons/day achieved in March/14 an improvement of 8.3% & 11.3%

over last year and target. Loading of container wagons/day up to MAR15 was
101.2 as against 87.9 container wagons/day achieved up to MAR14
improving15.1% & 1.2% over last year & over target respectively.
3)
During MAR’15 Divisional Balance was 1250 wagons/day as against 1518
wagons/day achieved in MAR14 reflecting 17.7% & 8.4% improvement over
last year and over target respectively. Up to MAR’15 Divisional Balance was
1299 wagons/day as against 1461 wagons/day up to MAR’14 which has
improved 11.1% over last year & 4.8% over target.1299 wagons /day is the
best ever divisional balance since last 10 years.

The daily average Electric Loco Holding Up to MAR’15 was 11.0 as against
12.0 number of Locos Holding Up to MAR’14 reflecting 8.3% improvement
over last year & 15.4% over target.
5)
Up to MAR’15 JUMBO holding was 12.7 rakes/day as against 15.2rakes/day
achieved Up to MAR’14 reflecting 16.4% improvement over last year and
15.3% over target.
6)
Up to MAR’15 BOXN holding was 2.9 rakes/day as against 3.8 rakes/day
achieved in MAR’14 reflecting 23.7% improvement over last year and 27.5 %
over target.

Up to MAR’15 interchange of wagons /day via Y-path, K-path, SER, DK &
BDR were 1811 wagons /day as against 1737 wagons/day achieved in
MAR’14 showing 4.3 % improvement over last year.

During the month of MAR’15, 99 extra coaches were attached in Mail /
Express as well as long distance trains. This includes ACCN-31, GSCN-37
GSCZ-14, LWFAC/R-6, LWACCW/R-6, FAC-1, FACCW-1, SLR-2, WCB-1.

In this month 1514 hrs 01mts. integrated Block(Engg. + TRD) has been
sanctioned. Other than integrated block , block availed by Engg.Dept. was
856hrs.54mts. and TRD Dept. was 884 hrs. 15mts.

DLBIs ~ (i) at DBT and CDH during this month.
b) One old Neal’s Token Block Instrument (TBI) at DEB with PLY has been
replaced with new TBI (particulars of the newly-commissioned TBI : Sl. No.
402, MFG. – Jan’ 2015, DOI – 07.03.2015) during this month.
c) Old and worn-out Control-cum-Indication Panel Board have been replaced at
CHT (from Quality Electric-make to Deltron-make on 03.3.2015), and also
renovation of old and worn-out Control Panel and Indication Panel done at
BLN/RRI during this month.
d) 201 Secondary cells have been
replaced on age-cum-condition
basis,including 3 Set of complete IPS Battery Banks at KYI (200AH), GEDE
(200AH) and AG (200AH) during this month.
e) 0.312 Km low-insulation as well as defective Signaling cable have been
replaced to reduce signal failures due to cable fault during this month.

f) Six old and worn-out Electrical Key Transmitters (EKT) replaced with new
ones at L.C. Gate Nos. 29/T/KNR & 41/S/T/KYI and KNR (for Crank Handle)
during this month.
g) One Urban-make 4-Channel Earth Leakage Detector (ELD) provided at
SDAH/Mn/RRI (on 03.03.2015) for 60V External, 24V External, 24V Internal
and 110V AC signal power supply during this month.
h) Seven old Track Feed Battery Chargers have been replaced (at KWDP,
NMKA, NCP, MPN, BMG, NH & SPR-BRP Auto) during this month.
i) Three Magneto telephones have been replaced (at L.C. Gate Nos. 17/E/BNJ,
51/C/E/BNJ & 3/S/T/DDC) during this month.
j) 20 FRP-based TLJB have been provided/ replaced (at LKPR, KWDP, CHT,
JDP Auto, KLNP, LKPR, SEP& HRO) during this month.
k) 102 Track Jumper Wires have been replaced during this month.
l) 436 Track Bonding Wires have been replaced during this month.

of linen done 100% simultaneously at the time of packing.

a) Old version (2000) Amara Raja-make IPS at KPA has been replaced with
Statcon-make New version (RDSO/SPN/165/2012) IPS during this month
(on 28.02.15).
b) Slide Boom-type Gate has been provided at L.C. Gate No. 41/S/T/KYI in
addition to the existing L.C. Gate as emergency standby arrangement
during this month (on 28.03.2015).
c) As per the amendment of GR Para 3.07, necessary Aspect Modification
has been done of Up Distant Signal of RHA/RRI during this month.
d) PPTC Fuse has been provided at total 2 Nos. of Stations ~ KGK/RRI and
SDAH/S/EI ~ during this month.
e) Total 12 Nos. of Starter Signals have been shifted at GEDE, MPUR, PLY,
RHA, RHA-X/C, KLNP and STB to the boundary of the track circuit ahead
to mitigate the risk and increase the CSL (CSR) during this month.
f) Signal Circuit has been modified of total 2 Nos. of Signals (A1 & A4 at JDP
Auto section) to avoid signal bobbing during aspect change during this
month.
g) Bifurcation done of Relay circuit having more than 45 contacts at
SDAH/Mn/RRI for the common G-route UCR circuit during this month.

Seven (07 )nos. 9-car rakes augmented to 12 (Twelve)car rake in Sealdah
north section.

Pit type wheel lathe calibration arrangement by flipping one axle has been
developed in all carshed .

Break down tool box provided in each important maintenance point for quick
attention of line break down cases. In addition, for using the packing under
hydraulic jack, nylon block has been procured and provided in the tool box.
These are lighter in weight and can be easily carried at break down spot.

Six (06) nos. rakes have been commissioned during the year 2014-15 (up to
Feb 15) and put in passenger service.

Shifting the location of existing LED based head code to the top of the lookout
glass has been done in all rakes as directed by GM.
 As per instruction of Railway Board 14 trailer coaches (8 type C and 6 type D)
have been sent for Southern Railway on 21-07-14
 To further improve safety, at NH station, 26 trains have been specified for rolling
in checking.
 During POH & renovation of I-car additional pantograph, MCPA and bypass
arrangement for 250Amps HRC fuse (underneath) by 300 Amp MCB in HT
compartment have been provided to improve reliability by introducing
redundancies in the critical systems. Moreover additional 1.5 ton AC has been
provided for addressing inadequate cooling issues.
 Provision of Fixed guard box inside the LT compartment of EMU driving cabs
have been completed in all EMU rakes of Sonarpur EMU Carshed.

Achievements in March 2015
1.
Arrest under Railway Act: During the month, regular drives were conducted by
RPF and total 1772 persons were arrested and prosecuted under different
sections of Railway Act. An amount of Rs. 479850/- have been realized as
fine.
2.
Rescue of Minor girls : RPF men of Sealdah division rescued two minor girl
during the month of March and handed over them to their parent/NGOs.
3.
Drive against Hawkers : During the month, regular drives were conducted by
RPF against hawking/begging in trains as well as railway premises and
during such drive 7 persons were arrested and prosecuted under section 144
Railway Act.
4.
Drive conducted in ladies compartment/trains : During the month, regular
drives were conducted against travelling of male passenger in ladies
compartment/trains and during such drives 805 persons have been detected
and Rs. 292050/- have been realised as fine.
5.
Detection of unbooked luggage cases :During the month, RPF assisted
Commercial staff in regular measures and 4332 cases were detected under
unbooked luggage. An amount of Rs. 711987/- have been realized as fine.
6.
Train Escorting: In the month of March 2015, total 2471 nos. of train were
escorted by RPF personnel against passenger security.

Unauthorisedeviction : In the month of March 2015, RPF assisted Engineering
Branch during eviction programme and 30 nos. of unauthorized structures
were evicted from railway premises.

Tobacco Act: During the month of March 2015, total 37 persons were detected
against smoking and dealt under the provision of Tobacco Act.
9.
Drive against cleanliness :In the month of March 2015, during drive against
cleanliness 56 persons were detected and an amount of Rs. 6600/- have
been realized as fine from them.

Assistance Required:
17.1 Due to acute crisis of Assistant Loco Pilot(ALP), this division is facing
difficulties in operation of diesel hauled trains. 112 posts of ALP are lying
vacant. These should be filled up at the earliest.
17.2 Four posts of SSE/Diesel are lying vacant which is required to be filled up at
the earliest.
17.3 Elec.TRD department is running with shortage of 30.55 % ministerial staff
(Sanction strength-36 nos., on roll-22 nos. & vacancy - 14 nos.) for which
OHE, PSI & RC depots are going without ministerial staff. All ministerial jobs
i.e preparing of bills, TA & OT vouchers, and maintenance of stores registers
etc are being updated by technical staff affecting TRD maintenance works.
17.4 Creation of 04 posts of Shunt man to enable EMU/MEMU shunting from BNJ
end of RHA carshed. Matching Surrender of 4 call men was given vide
Surrender memorandum no EW/MPP/WS/Elect TRS/E-22 date 31.03.2014.
Proposals for creation of 4 posts of shunt man have been submitted to HQ
vide L/no. EW/MPP/WS/TRS/E-22 dated 23-07-2014.
