Lady Chief Basketball Team Rules and Expectations I. Personal Conduct a. b. c. d. e. f. g. h. II. Drugs, alcohol, chewing tobacco, or anything that could embarrass yourself, your school or your family, will have consequences (possible dismissal from team) Conduct- On court, off court, and at school. You are expected to be a LADY and conduct yourself properly at all times. Language- Chronic swearing will be dealt with. Occasional mistakes will lead to consequences Academic responsibilities- Must have passing grades and should always put forth maximum effort. Proper practice attitude- Be coachable, by listening, focusing, and being disciplined “to do the little things”. Attitudes toward each other- any player responsible for dissension, jealousy, individualism, or negative criticism, or anything that could destroy the morale of this PROGRAM will be dealt with immediately. Don’t give excuses for your mistakes-DEAL WITH THEM AND MOVE ON. APPEARANCE- I understand the desire to be different. Team uniformity is expected in every way. Practice Responsibilities 1. Always be dressed and ready to practice before the actual starting time. 2. “If you cannot be on time, be early” (Consequences for being late-Team runs). If this becomes a chronic problem, it may lead to your dismissal from the team. 3. Do not miss practice, with the exception of: family emergencies/extreme illness. Even if you are unable to practice physically, you should still be there to observe. Missing practice without any of the above will result in sitting out the 1st half of next game. 4. If unable to attend practice or check out of practice early it is the PLAYER’S RESPONSIBILITY to contact Your Coach. 5. Our team is considered a family and each member should respect each other as a functional family member. -we will not tolerate arrogance or selfishness -we will not tolerate harassment of a teammate -we cannot have individualism on this team but I do want you to be confident yourself. 6. Dress Code-practice a. Must be in practice gear every day (reversible) b. The locker room must be clean and organized before you leave. If the mess is not yours, pick it up anyway. III. DURING THE GAME DISCIPLINE Coach expects you to: 1. Never complain about officiating and never show disrespect to another school 2. Always encourage teammates 3. Focus on the Game, not activities or voices from the bleachers 4. Never get a technical foul 5. Not trash talk or negatively gesture to fans 6. Qualify for State Tournament 3. Region Champions 4. Win the State Championship Offensive Goals 13+ total assists per game Shoot 70% from free-throw line 16+ second chance points Shoot 40% from the field Defensive Goals Under 15 team fouls per game 3+ charges per game Win the rebounding margin Create 16+ points from defensive intensity M i c h a e l J o r d a n
