Language Arts:
News
Reading: We’ll continue working on summarizing fiction next week. Students will work
more with their new literature group.
SRC Update: So far this semester I have ________ points. To be on track to earn Sheriff in
December, I need 17 points.
Writing: I am so IMPRESSED with the writing in this class. They’re creativity is wonderful
and makes my job so much fun! We’ll be writing a narrative next week incorporating our
character trait of respect.
Language (Spelling): Unit 4: rest, perhaps, certain, six, feel
Math: We’re taking our unit tests online
with a program called School Net. We took
the first test on Thursday. The kids did a
GREAT job!! Our next unit will work on
addition, subtraction, and generating
patterns.
Math Hall of Fame Update: We’re going
to do a week of review with addition and
subtraction. For those who already passed
both, you can take multiplication next
Friday.
Social Studies: We’re going to review
what we’ve learned about Native
Americans on Monday. We’ll do a short in
class project instead of a test for Chapter 1.
Then we’ll start working on regions of
Missouri in Chapter 2.
Science: We took our Chapter 4 test
Friday, so those will come home next
Friday. We’ll be starting Chapter 5, Parts
of Ecosystems. This is about a two week
unit.

North School PTO provides the opportunities for families and friends to join together with students
at various times throughout the year. They support everyone from students to faculty and staff.
Please support them by donating to the Fun(d) Run. It is their biggest fundraiser of the year. $25 of
donations gets your child a free shirt. Donations are due no later than September 13, 2016.

books. Landon: Place value tells how much a number is worth. Scout: I didn’t know that spiders had an instinct to
build certain kinds of webs. All the orb spiders build the same kind of web. Alex: I learned that killer whales use a type
of echolocation to find their food. Rhianna: I learned how to take tests on School Net. Hailee: It was fun to pretend to
be in fourth grade with my grandma.
