1.0 Overview of Requirements
This assignment is designed to give you an opportunity to explore lessons learned from our text
and time together with regards to Procurement and Strategic Costs Decisions of a firm.
We are using on on-line tool: The Cool Connection Business Simulation.
As you go through the event remember that we are always dealing with uncertainty in the
supply chain so there is never one perfect solution. You are always managing trade-offs.
Please think about the following questions and add detailed comments in Sections 2 and 3.
Then create a summary of Lessons Learned that is suitable for inclusion in a Discussion Board
Post.

What VP role do you have on your team? From Round 1, you selected the
one topic or area that you were most concerned about. How have your
decisions in this area changed, and what improvements do you see? If
you have seen no improvements, discuss your next improvement steps.
Why measurement results do you have that lead you to think that these
steps are working, or will work?
List your top three or four objectives – i.e. what were you trying to
accomplish IN YOUR SPECIFIC VP ROLE? How and why have these
changed from Round 1? If they have not changed, why not?
Gather data from one of the other VPs. What do they think of your
performance and results? How does that VP think your decisions have
impacted on him/her and their area of responsibility? How do they
recommend you should change in YOUR area? Add to their comments a
short section that provides your response. Should you do what they
suggest, and why/why not?
