EQUALITY IN BUSNIESS - IT PAYS BACK!
PROMOTIONAL CAMPAIGN
OF THE MINISTRY OF LABOUR AND SOCIAL POLICY
TO FOSTER WOMEN’S CAREER ADVANCEMENT
How can women’s position be improved to facilitate their access to decision making roles in Polish
companies and institutions? What can be done in order to remove invisible barriers that hinder women’s
participation in the making of economic decisions? The Ministry of Labour and Social Policy launches
a promotional campaign for the “Equality in Business” project. Kompania Piwowarska has become part of
the campaign by joining the group of Ambassadors of Equality in Business.
The promotional campaign was inaugurated at a press briefing with Minister of Labour and Social Policy
Władysław Kosinak-Kamysz and the Government’s Plenipotentiary for Equal Treatment, Prof. Małgorzata
Fuszara, in the main hallway of the Warsaw Stock Exchange, at ul. Książeca 4, Warsaw, on 2 September 2015.
The meeting served as an opportunity to discuss challenges that the implementation of equality policy is facing in
Poland, barriers hindering women’s career advancement towards decision making bodies in businesses, and
benefits that can be derived from utilising the potential of diversity.
During the meeting, the Coalition of Ambassadors of Equality in Business was introduced for the first time. In
an attempt to meet the need to synchronise various activities and foster good practices supporting men’s and
women’s equality in career advancement, the Minister of Labour and Social Policy invited individuals, institutions,
companies and organisations promoting such initiatives to join the group of Ambassadors of Equality in Business.
The main objective of creating a team of Ambassadors of Equality in Business is the need to popularize new
management standards as well as share information and experience regarding the promotion of gender equality in
Polish companies and institutions. Wojtek Molinski, representing Kompania Piwowarska, received the title of
Ambassador of Equality in Business.

The purpose of the project called “Equality of Women and Men in Economic Decision Making Processes as a Tool of Societal Change” is to
popularize equality between women and men on the labour market, and in particular women’s participation in economic decision making
processes, i.e. increasing their representation on management and supervisory boards of companies, where the key decisions are made for
such organisations.
The project is run by the Economic Analysis and Forecast Department of the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy. The technical partner of the
project is the Office of the Government’s Plenipotentiary for Equal Treatment. The project implementation is co-funded by the European
Union, under the umbrella of Community Programme PROGRESS.
