The New South Wales HARDCOURT TENNIS ASSOCIATION Inc. presents the Medibank Junior Development Series Metropolitan Series Round Robin Tournaments - Conditions of entry/rules Note: Qualifying age is at 31 October 2008 This event is a participation event. All participants will play approximately 30 games in traditional round robin format. Pool winners will participate in daily playoffs as advised by the tournament 1. director/s. The event will consist of a series of four (4) Round Robin events with THE BEST THREE (3) results being used to determine invitations to the Metropolitan Champion of Champions (C of C) event on 4 May. Participants at the Metro C of C form the basis of invitations to the Medibank State Final later in the year with the exception of the 21 & under. (National ranking points are available at the Medibank State Final) The top eight (8) placed metropolitan players in each age group at the conclusion of the Westpac JDS metropolitan series will be those with the highest number of points won during the series (after adjusting for best 3 results). Points will be allocated weekly as follows: - Winner 10 points, runner up 8, losing semi-finalist 6, losing quarter finalist 5 points, losing round of sixteen (16) 4 points, card winner 4 points card runner up 2 points and 1 point for participation. Players may elect to play up or down, where age eligibility permits however points ARE NOT transferable between ages. This means that a player may qualify for C of C in more than one age. Should this occur the player will be asked to nominate the age to be contested at C of C at the end of the series. The age played at C of C will be the age contested at the Medibank State Final. Players wishing to change age groups after original entry may only do so by email to: [email protected] - there will be no exceptions. All junior and under 21 players are eligible to enter, however only those players who are registered as Metropolitan players are eligible to participate in weekly playoffs, the Westpac Metropolitan C of C and Medibank State final Series as Metropolitan representatives. Play commences at 8.30am each day. Players who progress to the daily playoffs must be available to play all matches drawn until the completion of play. Should a player withdraw before completing the Round Robin section, after the commencement of play on any day, all matches played, or to be played by such player, shall be declared null and void. Players MUST forward entry fee together with the completed entry form to the Secretary NSW Hardcourt. Late entries will ONLY be considered/accepted by email to [email protected] Venues will not be set until after closing date at which time the venues will be posted to www.hardcourt.com.au All the rules applicable to tournament play will be enforced, including dress code & code of conduct.
