RECYCLED ART EXHIBITIN
Entries are now open for the 2016 Southern Gippsland Sustainability Festival Art
Exhibition. Applications are sought for art works made from at least 80% recycled
materials and embody this year’s theme:

Plastic does not go away!
You are invited, through your artwork, to comment on how we can reduce the
impact of plastic on the natural environment to protect our marine environment,
food system and water supplies from large and micro plastic contamination.
Artworks will be on display Saturday 12 March until Sunday 17 April 2016 at the
Coal Creek Gallery.
Categories
Entries will be judged on set criteria and prizes awarded to entries under the following three categories.
Primary (13 yrs & under)
Secondary (14 - 17 yrs)
Open (18+ yrs)
A People’s Choice Award will also be awarded on the basis on the most votes received at exhibition and on
Facebook “Likes”.
Judging Criteria



Creativity and originality.
Design and the use of multiple elements and techniques.
Quality of workmanship and construction.


Overall presentation.
Conceptual meaning and impact.
Application
Entries must include:
Contact information
Information stating the artists name, artwork’s title, materials / media used, garment size (if
applicable), and a 100 word statement on how it embodies the Exhibition Theme.
Three photos of each artwork (front, back and a “bonus” photo of the artist’s choosing) in
electronic format. Please save as a high resolution JPEG file (min. 300 dpi) and name the
image with: SGSF Art 2016_Artist’s name_Image title_School (if applicable)
Completed Artists Contract – All artists must agree to the conditions of the Artists’
Contract.
Applications must be submitted by 7 March 2016 to [email protected] or
posted to Sustainability Festival Art Exhibition, Private Bag 4, Leongatha VIC 3953.
