Introduction
Fluorescence Spectroscopy is an analytical technique used for a wide variety of
applications including cuvette based and plate based measurements. PerkinElmer offers
accessories and software that are designed to satisfy the needs of the many different
application fields.
The LS-55 is the gold standard for automated chemical and biological research. It is a
scanning Fluorescence Spectrometer covering the wavelength range of 200–800 nm
with the excitation monochromator and 200–900 nm with the emission monochromator.
The instrument has variable slits on both the excitation (2.5 to 15nm) and emission (2.5
to 20 nm) monochromators. The instrument can measure fluorescence, time resolved
fluorescence, phosphorescence and luminescence. Therefore this instrument can be
used for a wide range of applications and accessory options and serves as a base for
the application systems.
The LS-45 provides affordable performance for routine analyses. It is a scanning
Fluorescence Spectrometer covering the wavelength range of 200–800 nm with the
excitation monochromator and 200–900 nm with the emission monochromator. The
instrument has fixed slits (10 nm) on both the excitation and emission monochromators.
Both instruments are fully computer controlled systems using FL WinLab. FL WinLab,
a Windows based software package, controls the instrument, sampling accessories,
data collection and data processing. The software provides specific applications such as
Scan, Synchronous scanning, Time Drive, Ratio Data Collection, ICBC Calibration, Well
Plate Reader and 3D view.

accessories to address a wide range of application requirements.

Versatile, computer controlled Fluorescence spectrometer; incorporates a
8.3 watt, pulsed xenon source for fluorescence and phosphorescence
decay time measurements.
Excitation 200–800 nm and emission 200–900 nm with zero order
selectable. Standard PMT covers 200–650 nm; R928 or R955 PMT
optionally available for full range. Synchronous scanning with constant
wavelength or frequency difference included. Excitation spectra are
automatically corrected. Uses holographic excitation grating for reduced
stray light levels.
Variable excitation 2.5–15 nm and emission 2.5 to 20 nm slits in 0.1 nm
increments. Scan speeds can be selected in 1 nm increments from 101500 nm/minute.
Includes Single-position, water-thermostatted cell holder and Septum
injector
Incorporates a software-controlled filter wheel in the emission
monochromator with 290, 350, 390, 430 and 515 nm cutoff filters, 1% T
attenuator and clear beam.
Includes automated polarization accessory that consists of 2 filter
wheels; each wheel containing a horizontal and vertical polarizing element.
Polarizer positions are software controlled and can be manually set or
automatically controlled for polarization, anisotropy or G-factor
Includes sample compartment purge nipple to allow dry air or nitrogen to
be blown into the sample area to prevent the optics fogging for low
temperature applications.
