Dear Parents/Carers
Year 11 have made a great start to exams – thank you for your support. Small amounts of home
study will be introduced after half term and students will be given a week by week timetable every
Monday . I am also writing to let you know of upcoming events for Year 11.
Post 16 Induction Day – Friday 30th June
Students who are intending to come to Post 16 have a compulsory induction day. They need to
come to school dressed smartly (no jeans) for 9.00 a.m. and meet in the Post 16 common room
for an introduction to life in Post 16 and planned activities.
Leavers’ Prom – Friday 7th July
Places have been given to those who have paid and we look forward to a fabulous event.
The venue will be at a local Warwickshire hotel.



Coach transport from school to the venue and back (meet at school 7pm to get coach 7.15pm, back
at school 12.20am)

Disco/Dance
The evenings in the past have been superb, with the attitude and maturity of the students
exemplary. Students are not permitted to smoke or drink alcohol. Text messages requesting final
payments have gone out.
Leavers’ Assembly - Friday 14th July at 9.30 a.m.
There will be a leavers’ assembly in the presentation hall to celebrate the students’ time at Whitley
Academy. Parents are also welcome to attend. Students do not need to wear uniform.
GCSE and BTEC Results Day - Thursday 24th August
Exam results will be available from 10.00 a.m.-11.30 a.m. in the auditorium. Students will also
be able to receive advice and guidance following their results and confirm their place within Post
16 dependent on outcomes.
