Future Razorbacks:
On behalf of the Black Alumni Society of the University of Arkansas, I would like to congratulate you on your
accomplishments in high school. The society also would like to commend you on having the University of
Arkansas as one of your perspective universities for furthering your academic studies.
The Black Alumni Society was founded in 1998 by alumni and friends of the University of Arkansas Black
Alumni. The society is a chartered organization of the Arkansas Alumni Association. Our mission is to promote
communication and friendship among black alumni, faculty, students and friends of the University of Arkansas by
providing a forum for information exchange through organized events and other activities.
The society also plays a vital role in the recruitment and retention of our students on campus. In order to fulfill
our recruitment and retention goal; the society has established a four year scholarship for an outstanding incoming
African American freshman. The freshman must be a resident of Arkansas or a legacy student living out of state.
