COOP CORE Implementation of CBS in all Urban Co-operative Banks (UCBs) of Gujarat is a focus area & the Federation is actively facilitating this transformation by providing support & guidance wherever needed. With the accreditation of six Vendors by National Federation of urban Co-operative Banks & Credit Societies(NAFCUB) for CBS implementation under Application Service Provider (ASP) Model UCBs in Gujarat are Aggressively progressing towards speedy CBS implementation. The ASP model has turned out to be the most affordable option for CBS for the smallest bank as they Subscribe to a common pool of resources (hardware, Software, man power), thus deriving benefit of not only shared resources but also enhanced group specific application features. This Model provides end to end IT solutions leaving the bank to concentrate on its core competency. Banks will be able to use higher level of technology without higher investments. All these and several other aspects have made ASP a compelling model for deployment of IT solution in Co-operative Banks. “We have therefore necessarily to leap frog to the latest and most appropriate Technology. CBS on application service provider model is most suitable option for Small Urban Banks “Urban banks have to adopt these technologies at the earliest, For which CBS enabled architecture is must. Mr. H.K. Patil, President, NAFCUB Implementation of CBS would enable Banks to offer world class banking facilities to customers including tele-banking. Net banking, mobile banking, card banking etc. About 75 banks constituting 30% of the total UCBs in the state are in various stages of CBS implementation. It is expected that by 2012 December more than 100 banks would be CBS enabled. The Federation is pursuing its dream of having an umbrella network which would create a common platform enabling all Co-operative Banks to provide seamless services. This would foster co-operation amongst co-operatives, one of the principles of co-operation.
