production and creative development
skills through the design and creation
of live games projects. This degree
is also suitable if you wish to work in
games programming.

How will I be assessed?
Most assessment will be through
coursework which may consist of a
combination of group work, seminar
presentations, practical computer based
projects, or written reports. Some
modules also have a formal examination
as part of the assessment.
What progression is there?
Foundation Degrees are recognised
qualifications in their own right, equivalent
to the first two years of an honours
degree. Many of our graduates chose
to top-up their Foundation Degree to a
full Honours degree by applying to the
following qualifications at the University of
Central Lancashire (UCLan) in Preston:
• BSc (Hons) in Computer Games
Development – Year 2
• BSc (Hons) in Computing (Top up) in
which you will study 6 modules over 1
academic year if you achieve a merit in
your Foundation Degree, alternatively
you will study 8 modules over 1.3 years
• Year 2 of a specialised computing
degree, ie
