Experience one of the world’s great road trips,
the Causeway Coastal Route.
Northern Ireland’s remarkable Causeway Coastal
Route brings a new, exhilarating experience around
every corner. Hugging the Atlantic coast from
Derry~Londonderry to Belfast, or vice versa, the route is
studded with towering cliffs, crumbling castles, beaches
that extend for miles and hidden glens. It’s easy to see
why this dramatic landscape has inspired Game of
Thrones, attracts surfers, golfers and adventure seekers
from near and far, featuring the UNESCO World Heritage
Site, the Giant’s Causeway. At every stop, you’ll be
enchanted by the people too.
The suggestions on the next page provide added
inspiration, but there is plenty more for every interest.

TITANIC BELFAST
SEE A SUNSET WORTH SHARING
Voted the World’s Leading Tourist Attraction, explore
Belfast’s rich maritime heritage with a visit to the 5*
Titanic Belfast, and its sister ship the SS Nomadic at the
Titanic Belfast experience.
The evening sun casting rays low over Dunluce Castle
is a perfect moment for that iconic holiday snap. This
breathtaking castle is precariously perched above the
crashing waves – so much so that its kitchen even fell
into the sea one stormy night.
SMELL THE ROSES
MAKE CHILDHOOD MEMORIES…
The Antrim Garden Trail is a must for garden lovers,
and Glenarm Castle is one of its top horticultural
hotspots. Explore the fabulous gardens then visit the
Londonderry Arms (previously owned by Winston
Churchill) for lunch in nearby Carnlough.
The choice of Blue flag beaches along the Causeway
Coastal Route means that a good old seaside visit is
an absolute must. Stroll barefoot through the rolling
sands, try to build your own Dunluce sandcastle and
treat yourself to a tasty ice cream afterwards.
THE PLACE FOR PUFFINS
SURFS UP
A visit to Rathlin Island makes for a magical day out.
Where else can you see an upside down lighthouse
built into a cliff face? Not forgetting the beautiful
walking trails, seals and even puffins on one of the UK’s
biggest bird colonies.
If it gets wet outside, you may as well embrace it – pull
on a wetsuit and learn to surf, body board or stand-up
paddle at one of Northern Ireland’s great surf schools.
After an adrenaline-fuelled day among the waves, a
little rain will never faze you again.
WALK IN GIANT’S FOOTSTEPS
GAME OF THRONES®
Visit the Giant’s Causeway aboard a beautiful
narrow-gauge heritage train. The Giant’s Causeway &
Bushmills Railway Route gets you there in style, then
drops you off to discover the causeway, its visitor centre
and its legendary lodger, Finn McCool.
Get on the Game of Thrones® trail and find yourself
in the world of Westeros. The Dark Hedges, Ballintoy
Harbour, Cushendun Caves and Downhill Beach are
unmissable shooting locations for anyone who loves
this global TV phenomenon.
TASTE THE FINEST WHISKEY
WALL TO WALL HISTORY
Sensory delights are waiting at the Old Bushmills
Distillery. This famous distillery is still making one of
the world’s finest whiskies and the sights, sounds,
smells are invigorating. Take the tour, try a sample, stay
for lunch, and savour every minute.
Ancient meets contemporary in the magnificent walled
city of Derry-Londonderry. Explore the only completely
walled city in Ireland with fully preserved 17th century
ramparts, including four sets of original gates, 24
original cannon and the famous Roaring Meg.
