A Statement of Teaching & Research Interest I hold a Ph.D. degree in applied cognitive psychology. I deed post-graduation in clinical psychology and graduation in psychology. This background and experience offer me the required foundation to attract students to my area of interest. I establish academic links with other faculty members and qualified people from industry and hospitals to teach and guide my students with their domain knowledge and experience. This establishes diversity of ideas and collaborative ventures. Provide the student with professional skills commensurate with his/her future role in the mental health centres/industry/organization/corporations. In today’s age of information, I think ‘there can be learning without teaching but there can’t be teaching without learning’. “I know everything” attitude will stagnate me and so I instead believe sincerely in “I am a learner for life time” and keep on exploring new knowledge and ideas. This keeps me young as well. Research Area and Interest: I did Ph.D. in the area of applied cognitive psychology. This is an upcoming area of research that will have lot of applications in software engineering, high risk industries, complex systems, web designing, humancomputer interactions, and interface designs. My background in clinical psychology helps me to explore research possibilities in cognitive therapies. 6 Future Research Directions: Though I keep my mind open to explore any ideas, I have tentatively planned to do research in area of cognitive psychology and more specifically executive functioning, cognitive workload, etc. ***** 7
