Fair Deal has developed a social and
leisure programme for people who use
learning disability services in Glasgow.
We have linked with local community
resource centres in the south of Glasgow
to develop our programme.
The programme provides an exciting and
interesting alternative to traditional day
services.

What is Fair Deal’s social and leisure
programme?
It is an exciting programme filled with lots
of things for you to do 7 days a week.
It has lots of things that you might be
interested in - learning new things,
meeting new people and having
fun.

Why have a social and leisure
programme?
Glasgow City Council are changing the
day service they provide and will be giving
some people their own budget so that they
can do things that they enjoy and learn
new things.
We talked to people who use Fair Deal's
services and asked them what they would
like to be involved in. We thought it was a
good idea to develop an exciting
programme where people could do things
they liked or try new things.
Fair Deal's social and leisure programme

Who can join Fair Deal's social and
leisure programme?
Anyone who is interested in the
programme, has a learning disability and
has a budget to pay for the activities can
join.

How can I join the programme?
You can:
• find the programme flyer in this booklet or
on Fair Deal’s website - www.fair-deal.org
• tick the activities you are interested in
• look at the activities you ticked and find
out how much they will cost each day,
each week and for the year.
• choose which activities you want to book.
• email or post the form to Fair Deal
Fair Deal will contact you to talk about
what you have signed up to and the cost
for this.
We will agree a contract with you for the
programme you have chosen.

How much will my programme cost?
The cost will depend on what you have chosen
to do. Each activity has a different cost
because each session is different.
Some activities will have a cost for the use of
the building or for lunch. The activity leader
cost will be different depending on the activity.
The daily/activity could include the cost of:
• staff /activity leader
• use of building
• lunch
• Fair Deal management
• materials
You will have to travel to the venues on your
own or with support from your family or support
provider

How will I be able to let you know what I
think of the programme?
We will be asking you to tell us what you
think about the programme in a lot of
different ways. We will:
• talk to you on your own
• talk to you in small groups
• ask you to fill out a sheet to tell us
what you think
•ask for your ideas and suggestions on
how it can be made better through our
social and leisure planning group
• talk to your family and friends if you
agree to this
•ask you to talk to our podcast group
who will put what you have said on our
website
