UIL Science Team Wins Region!

Paschal Brings Home Silver from the State Meet!
The Paschal UIL Science Team returned from Austin with silver medals, finishing as the second
place team in the State of Texas! The Science team has made it to State 6 out of the last 7 years,
and won the State Championship in 2011. Just like sports, the science club has dozens of students
competing for a spot on the UIL Science Team, with competitions throughout the school year. The
team must advance past District and Region to make it to State. The photo below demonstrates this
team's passion for learning. Instead of relaxing after defeating perennial powerhouses Highland Park
and Arlington Martin, the team spent hours working on their field biology skills (finding and identifying
reptiles and amphibians). Congrats to this incredible group of students.

UIL Science Team Wins Region!
The UIL Science team competed in the Region Academic Meet at UT Arlington on
Saturday April 23rd. Despite losing to Martin High School at District we advanced to
Region as the wild card, and this past Saturday we were able to defeat Martin to advance
to the State UIL Academic meet May 23-25 in Austin. Congrats to these hardworking
academic athletes!

Science Competes at District
On Tuesday March 5th the Paschal UIL science team traveled to Arlington Martin high
school for the UIL District Meet. Paschal had several individual awards including first
place in Biology, Chemistry and Physics as well as the top two individual scores (Wyatt
Reeves and Paul Ryu). The team placed second but will advance to the regional UIL
academic competition at UTA as the wild card.

TMSCA STATE Results
On Saturday March 19th, 18 Paschal students competed in San Antonio at TMSCA against
schools from across Texas. Our team won 3rd place in the STATE!
TMSCA is an organization formed by Texas math and science teachers to promote
excellence in math and science through competition. It was formed in 1981 to promote
uniformity in the practice meets held to prepare students for UIL competition in the
spring. Team competition, originally promoted at practice meets, is now included in most
of the UIL academic events.
Paschal WON the TEAMS competition at UT Dallas Wednesday. We were up against
some of the most elite private schools in North Texas, including: St. Mark's, Cistercian
Prep, and Hockaday!
Here is a video of the Team learning they won first place!
