Traditional "Wisdom" of Reitaku
"For people, for society, for the future. We endeavor to elevate ourselves, and cultivate our
knowledge and morality with like-minded friends. The spirit of learning at Reitaku illuminates
our paths and continues to shed its rays even as times change."
Reitaku University Established College of Foreign Languages in 1959, and added the Faculty of
International Economics in 1992. Now we have 2 faculties, foreign languages and economics, and

2500 students over in Kashiwa, Chiba prefecture.
Our university concludes an exchange agreement with a university in Micronesian and our
students is working on any projects of environmental issues and so on every year.
About vast Campus of 420,000 square miles.
The natural beauty of our campus, along with its ample resources and facilities, offer students a
wonderfully unique learning experience.
And our university is at about 30 minutes from Tokyo, or at about 1 hour from international
airports (Haneda, Narita) by train and so on.
This educational philosophy of the founder, Dr. Hiroike, is actively realized in the Graduate
School of Economics and Business Administration. Its educational aim is to nurture “Global
Servants” who can contribute to society from a global and altruistic point of view. Looking at
present-day social conditions, it has been observed both at home and abroad that the alarming
degeneration of political and business ethics is affecting the vital fabric of society. Reitaku
University has been promoting research into business ethics and, in 2001、 established the
Reitaku University Business Ethics and Compliance Research Center (R-bec).
12.Features of Graduate School
Master program consisting of two majors (Economics, Business Administration) aims to train
professional practitioners and researchers able to promote leading research in the field and
expected to work for institutions inside and outside Japan for public policies.
There are three units in the Economic Major curriculum, economics, finance and international
public policy, and in Business Administration Major, business administration, tax and accounting,
and business ethics and several courses are offered in each of these units.
At the graduate school, we provide students with the latest equipment and a relaxing
environment where they study alongside their peers. Our professors give constant encouragement,
and other staff members provide whole-hearted support in every aspect of student life. Students

some students even say that it is like having their own office.
1) Major in Economics (M.A. Program)
・Quest for Principles of Economic Activity That Are in Harmony with Humanity and Morality
The globalization of economy are accelerating ever more rapidly. There is growing significance in
learning economics equipped with humanly, moral and cultural perspectives. The program in
Economics Major aims at fostering professional practitioners and researchers who are able to
promote leading research in the field and expected to work for institutions inside and outside
Japan for public policies.
・Research Contents Compatible with the Globalization of Economic Policies
In the Economics Major, students theoretically and statistically analyze dynamic structural
changes resulted from globalization in such factors as production and the transfer of goods and
services across borders. Also, their research contents reflect various current international affairs
including the globalization of finances and accounts necessary for corporal activities particularly
by multinational corporations.
・Stressing the Importance of Humanity and Regional Cultures in Economy
In current economic and business administrative activities, it is crucial to assume an attitude to
stress the importance of humanity and regional cultures of economic agents or in the sphere of
activity, as well as expansion of scale and pursuit of profits. Our educational ideal “the unity of
knowledge and high sense of morality” is also much emphasized in the education of our school.
2) Business Administration (M.A. Program)
・Learning Problem-Solving Oriented Managerial Skills:
In today’s world, there is growing uncertainty. Students engage in their research activities with

much emphasis on gaining a global perspective, a discerning eye to penetrate beyond the
complexities of social circumstances and a critical problem-solving ability. The Program in
Business Administration aims to bring forth policy planners and administrators that take active
roles in such organizations as private business, public institution and NPOs.
・Cultivating Expertise to Perform Managerial Affairs in Private Business, Public Institutions and
NPOs:
Students are trained to be practical experts who can solve complex problems with a global
perspective in such public organizations as the governmental office, domestic and foreign
business corporation or NPOs. We aim to nurture such high managerial abilities.
・Focusing on Interdisciplinary-, Problem-, Policy-Orientation that the Present Society Calls For:
In order to solve diverse problems in present society that is complex and constantly changing, it is
assumed that three elements are important: Interdisciplinary-oriented, linking multiple
expertise, problem-oriented, identifying the problems to be solved, and policy-oriented, solving
them with concrete measures.
・Meeting the Needs for Recurrent Education of Working Adults with High Awareness of World
Issues:
We cordially extend warm welcome to everyone who has high awareness of world issues,
regardless of their career, age, or nationality, be it a businessperson who is thinking of learning a
high degree of expertise, having come across real-world problems in practical fields, or someone
with experience in business administration who is thinking of beginning a new phase in their life.
