We had a great first week…
Keep us the good work!
Remember that Thursday is
Pretest & Friday is Spelling
test. If you make a 100 on
Thursday you don’t have to
take the test on Friday
ALSO…Parents, Please
check out our websitse on
the district page and
subscribe to see what is
going on in our class!
Each student does need a planner. We will be writing in
them each Monday with important information that you
will need to know for the week. You will be asked to sign
each night. We like to use this as a way to communicate
with parents on a daily bases if needed about behavior or
issues that might happen at school. If you have not
purchased yet, please do so by sending $5 to school as
soon as possible.

Favorite Holiday Traditions by: Breanna Ellis
This time of year is busy and everyone
has different ways they celebrate the
holiday season. Families all have their
own traditions. Some traditions are
passed down from generation to
generation. We all have our own
favorite things we like to do each
holiday season.
My favorite holiday tradition is making
Christmas cookies. I first started
decorating Christmas cookies when I
was two years old at my Grandparent`s
house and still enjoy doing this every
year.
I did a survey to find out what the
students favorite traditions are here at
A.R.Turner. I interviewed three classes;
Mrs.Rockwell , Mrs.Crow , and
Mrs.Hoke`s students. Below is a graph
showing the results. Are any of these
your favorite traditions?

Favorite Winter Activities
By Brittney Johnson
A lot of you have
different activities you love to
play. Have you ever thought of
winter activities? That’s why I
asked a few students which
winter activities they liked
best. The choices were
snowboarding, ice skating, or
skiing. Most students picked

Hi, my name is Kalynn and I’d like to
tell you a little about myself. My
favorite color is lime green. I have a
15 year old brother at Willis High
School. I have been going to this
school for 6 years. I love to sing and
dance. I am bi-racial (which means I
come from two different races) and
I’m the only girl in my family.
snowboarding or ice skating.
These activities are fun to do.
Hopefully it will snow hard
enough for you to go
snowboarding or skiing.
Wouldn’t that be cool!

The purpose of a newsletter is to
provide specialized information to a
targeted audience. A school newsletter
can be a great way to develop a strong
relationship with parents.
First choose a short title for your
newsletter— something like "School
News," or “Back to School.” As you
choose the title, also take time to think
about the newsletter’s theme. What
important messages do you want to
send parents and families?
Next, establish how much time and
money you can spend on your
newsletter. These factors will help
determine how frequently you publish
the newsletter and its length.
Use the body of your school newsletter
to keep parents apprised of major
assignments and class events, as well as
of any school district news.
