Greening Africa Together is a joint project of the TU Berlin (MSc Regenerative Energiesysteme

in Senegal, Guinea, DRCongo, Benin and Turkey and business partners aiming at introducing
international service learning modules on renewable energies (RE) and energy efficiency (EE) which
takes place from 2016 to 2019. The modules with the included summer schools become part of the
regular curricula of the Master programs in RE and EE and credits will be awarded. The summer schools
are prepared and undertaken in collaboration with local NGOs and village associations, to ensure that
the projects address the needs of the communities. The implementation and reflection of the learning
experiences (both by the stakeholders and the students) is ensured by the preparation and evaluation
workshops.
The first international summer school in Senegal took place from 4th to 18th March 2017 in the rural
village of Khouram in the Casamance, in Senegal’s South, and in the Democratic Republic of Kongo
from 25th March to 8th April in the village of Kikoti.
The participating students of TU Berlin will present and discuss their experiences and project
