California’s Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act (Proposition 65)
Marshfield DoorSystems (MDS) is required by the State of California’s Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement
Act to provide a clear and reasonable warning to Californians about the potential for exposure to significant amounts
of certain chemicals or substances in the products we produce or that are released into the environment.
Following is a summary of chemicals or substances that may be found in our products that fall under Proposition 65.
Wood Dust
MDS products are likely to be comprised of wood. Drilling, sawing, sanding or machining wood products generates
wood dust, a substance known to the State of California to cause cancer. Following is an example of the sign that
must be displayed in the immediate vicinity of retail display shelving or at the retail point-of-sale for wood products
being sold in California:

a dust mask or other safeguards for personal protection.
California Health and Safety Code Section 25249.6
Methanol
MDS products may contain trace amounts of methanol; a chemical known to the State of California to cause cancer.
Formaldehyde
MDS products may contain trace amounts of formaldehyde; a chemical known to the State of California to cause
cancer.
Lead
Very specific MDS products designed for ionizing radiation and noise shielding contain Lead (Pb); a substance
known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects or reproductive harm. Due to the finished nature of
MDS products that contain lead, ingesting or inhaling toxic levels of lead is highly unlikely.

Warnings identifying the potential risks associated with exposure to lead (when applicable), wood dust and
formaldehyde have been included on the packing lists and invoices that accompany our products. As our customer,
we ask that any further distribution of our products retain these warnings when there is potential for the products to
be distributed to California.
