arts, DIY and household materials.
Planning Advice (FDC)

to your premises Kathryn Brand is
available to offer advice on planning
permission and development.
• ‘Tidy Fenland’ is the latest initiative in a wider
“It’s your Fenland, be proud of it” campaign
that aims to engage communities in helping
to improve the district’s environment.
• The project aims to work with residents and
businesses to curb the minority of people who
dump rubbish like takeaway food cartons,
sweet wrappers and cigarette butts on the
streets or in parks.
Health and Safety (FDC)
• Debra Bodger is a Senior
Environmental Health
Officer. She is able to offer
guidance and advice on
health and safety best
practice in the workplace.
• The EASIER (Environmental Advice for SMEs
in the Eastern Region) project provides free
support for Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs)
to reduce your carbon output, and become
more energy-efficient and competitive as a
result.
• Through the EASIER project, the aim is to
achieve a minimum 10% reduction in your
organisation’s carbon footprint.
• The Fens Adventurers Rural Development
Programme (FARDP) has £1.8 million in
grants from the European Union and the UK
Government. The aim of the programme is to
support the start-up or growth of rural
businesses in parts of the Cambridgeshire
and West Norfolk Fens.
• Enterprise agency NWES specialises in helping people turn
their business idea into a reality, by offering fully funded
professional advice, an excellent start-up business training
programme, and a loan fund specifically for anyone who has
been refused business credit from a bank.
We also offer training workshops in how to build your self
confidence, CV writing and interview skills, plus a range of low
cost courses for existing business owners.

Our role is to facilitate discussions between different
organisations and to identify opportunities where
materials that are not being fully utilised by one
company, could be used by another, either in the same
condition or reprocessed for a different use.
This could involve a waste material becoming a
resource for another company or be related to physical
assets/facilities, human resources, expertise, logistics,
energy, water, capacity…. basically, it is about creating
value to any wasted or under-utilised resource.
