2007 TITLE SPONSOR
The Dixie Future Stars Tournament brings together the top 15-16 year-old Dixie Pre-Majors Baseball participants.
The event will be held the weekend of June 15-17 in Montgomery, Alabama. Stair Depot of Alabama, Inc. will be
the title sponsor for the 2007 tournament. This unique wood bat format showcases the individual talents of players.
Game performance and the overall skills of each player are evaluated during the event.
The 11 southern states that comprise the Dixie Pre- Majors region (Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia,
Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia) will be divided into 4
teams: North Stars- South Stars-East Stars and the West Stars. Each roster is comprised of 14 players along with
three coaches per team.
Each team will play a minimum of three (3) games with the two teams with the best records competing for the
Dixie Future Stars team championship.
All tournament activities will take place at Paterson Field in Montgomery. Paterson Field is a former minor league
stadium and home of many NCAA Division II National Baseball College Championship Series.

DIXIE FUTURE STARS TOURNAMENT
Dixie Boys Baseball, Inc. congratulates you on your selection as one of the top 15-16 year old players
in our Dixie Pre-Majors Division. We join with the City of Montgomery, Alabama in welcoming
you to this prestigious tournament. This event will provide you with the opportunity to showcase your talents.
All players will be evaluated and the information we compile will be used to help determine future invitations
for participation with our Dixie National team. The National team competes in the USA Baseball Tournament
of Stars Event each year in Cary, NC. The TOS event (age 16-17) is a prestigious event that highlights the
talents of the best 144 athletes in the United States. As part of the week long event held at the USA Baseball
Training Facility, a team is selected that represents our country in international play. Many opportunities are
being presented to Dixie participants.
General Tournament Information:

Each player/parent will be responsible for providing the following: Player and family transportation,
meals, lodging, equipment and basic uniform accessories such as socks, belt, white pant and cap.

The Host Hotel for the event is the Lexington Hotel (located I-85) in Montgomery. The hotel is
offering discounted rates of $60.00 plus tax just by mentioning you are involved with the tournament.
The hotel phone number is: 334-272-0370. The hotel is located within five miles of Paterson Field.
All players are required to complete an application form as well as a waiver form. The application
form, waiver form and copy of the players’ birth certificate should be sent to the Commissioner’s
Office at PO Box 8263, Dothan, Al. 36304. All players must report at scheduled check-in time and all
information must be secured prior to a player being allowed to participate.
The top coaches in each state will be identified, invited, assist in the selection process and lead their
squad upon arrival in Montgomery. Each team will have three coaches.







Dixie Boys Baseball along with the Montgomery Parks & Recreation Department
will make every attempt to play the scheduled games. Both organizations’ primary concern is the
safety of all in attendance. Game times could also be changed accordingly.
The City of Montgomery will charge a nominal entry fee for all games. Concessions will be available.
No drinks or food items are allowed to be brought into Paterson Field.
Dixie Boys Baseball will provide two man crews of registered Dixie officials. The team manager is the
only individual that will be allowed to confer with the umpires.
Dixie Boys Baseball, Inc. will provide excess medical coverage for participants. Waiver and release
forms from all participants (youth & adult) were strongly recommended as part of our coverage.
Dixie Boys Baseball, Inc. obtained a dozen wood bats from the Old Hickory Bat Company.
Players are allowed and encouraged to bring a wood bat; however through a donation from our partner;
B&B Enterprises LLC, of Shorter, Alabama we will have the additional bats

available.
Players & Coaches will participate in the Dixie Future Stars Opening Ceremony on Saturday at 10am.
All players should arrive at the park no later than 9:15 am. As part of the Opening Ceremony, player
introductions will be made, our title sponsor Stair Depot of Alabama will be recognized and
the National Anthem will be performed. Parents are encouraged to attend and take advantage of the
opportunity to take photos and participate in the event.

In conjunction with the Montgomery Biscuits, the AA Minor League Club of the Tampa Bay
Devil Rays, a social event will be held at Riverwalk Stadium. Each player and coach will receive a
game ticket and a full buffet courtesy of

purchase by parents the afternoon of the event!!

