The Boat Ride
You have two options to select how you will arrive to
Thompson Island:
• Private charter from Long Wharf via Boston Harbor
Cruises – Thompson Island will make the arrangements,
you just pick the departure time from Long Wharf and
Thompson Island. The cost is $18 per person round trip
with a minimum of $1,800. Additional trips are subject
to prior approval and additional fees.
• Private Thompson Island Ferry – A group under 125
may use the Island ferry that departs from the Black
Falcon Cruise Terminal in South Boston and costs $18
round trip per person with no minimums.

All weddings have a $30,000 minimum inclusive of venue, food,
beverage, charter boat, tax, fees and gratuity. All weddings require a
$2,500 deposit to reserve a date and full payment in advance.

Once you have selected and booked your specific vendors, have
them contact us directly for delivery of goods (cakes, flowers, rental
equipment, etc).

• Ceremony Fee: $2.50 per chair
• Cake Cutting Fee: $2.50 per person (includes delivery, handling,
storage, setup and serving)
• Champagne Toast: $8.00 per person
• Outside Rental of China, Glass, and Silver: $15 per person (includes
ferry transport, set, clear, clean, crate, and load/unload – client
responsible to order and pay outside vendor for china rental)
• Special Scheduled Ferries: charged accordingly
• Additional Hour at Event Site: $500 per hour

Outdoor Reception Venues
Ocean Bluff Pavilion
The larger of our sites offers two tents that overlook Boston’s skyline
framed by lush island trees. Arched entrances, vaulted ceiling, interior/
exterior lighting and inlaid floors make the 40’ x 100’ white tent
impressive for any event with up to 280 people. The smaller 40’ x 70’
Olympic white frame tent with French windowed walls, interior lighting,
tables and chairs is an ideal venue for cocktail hour or dancing.

Waterfront Landing
Panoramic views of the harbor and Boston’s skyline will surely impress
your guests at this charming wooden pavilion with exposed beams,
high open eaves and interior lighting. This unrivalled beachfront setting
accommodates up to 200 people.

beverage license. The form must be signed and

The license fee is $100 for Beer & Wine and
$175 for Beer, Wine, & Mixed Drinks.
Liquor Liability—Thompson Island Conference
Center abides by all Liquor Laws in
Massachusetts. Guests must be of the Legal
Age of 21 to consume alcoholic beverages. All
alcohol must be served by Thompson Island
employees. Thompson Island reserves the legal
right to refuse further service of any guest who
we feel has had enough to drink. All alcoholic
consumption is restricted to the Event Sites only.

The Island
Thompson Island is a 204-acre nature preserve and Boston Harbor’s only
private island. You and your guests will have access to the groomed nature
trails for self-guided tours and walks on the beach.

Overnight Accommodations
Once the celebration concludes, there are overnight accommodations for you
and your guests to enjoy. Historic brick building dormitories located on our
main campus accommodate up to 50 people each. Linens, blankets, towels and
pillows are provided in each room. Comfortably appointed lounges with leather
sofas and televisions offer the perfect location for post reception gatherings.
Lodging is also available in a stunning five bedroom Colonial that sleeps 11
people and is ideal for pre and post wedding festivities.
Sherbrooke House
A stunning five-bedroom Colonial with 1.5 baths, living
room, dining room, kitchen, library, sunroom, and deck is
ideal for a luxury summer escape. Headmaster’s House is
equipped with two beds per room and sleeps 11 guests.

views is an impeccable spot for a relaxing island getaway.

designed dorm. Sakowich Hall offers a total of 50 beds,
two per room, with a shared bathroom on each floor.

Magee Hall
A historic two story brick building located in our main
campus offers guests a nicely appointed lounge with
leather sofas that is the perfect spot for pre and posts
group gatherings. Magee Hall accommodates up to 50
