g Aspects
p
• Interference management between operators
– Most countries such as Malaysia, India do not specify any
regulation. It is up to operators’ agreement.
– Korea : to operate 9 MHz and 10MHz bandwidth simultaneously
inter-operator UL/DL timing synchronisation is recommended.

Views
• Full TDD arrangement is preferred.
– However, flexible FDD/TDD arrangement is also considered for
administrations that are required to meet local conditions
•
A channel raster of 5MHz and/or 9 MHz is used
– Can be aggregated into larger blocks
• A guard band to 2.4GHz ISM band is considered.
– Generally
y 10MHz but not universal.
• Consolidated in APT Wireless Forum Report: “APT
FREQUENCY ARRANGEMENT ON 2 300 – 2 400MHz FOR
IMT/BWA”.

Final comments
• Good harmonisation is possible with activities in ETSI
aligned
li
d ffrom a ttechnical
h i l perspective.
ti
– Based on globally standardised technologies.
• A firmer regulatory basis for licensing is required that can
support the standardisation efforts.
– Clear and harmonised band arrangements.
– Understanding the coexistence aspects.
– Other services to be considered in Europe.
• Markets will continue to grow in the APAC region.
– Increasing pressure on roaming possibilities.
– Scale economy opportunities.
