Scrutineering Guidelines 1. Dry Tyres Procedure From the Buriram

Scrutineering Guidelines
1. Dry Tyres Procedure
From the Buriram event onwards teams are restricted to 4 sets of new tyres for GT3 cars and 3 sets
for GT4 cars. In addition, teams may use a carry-over set of tyres for the car from a previous event,
not necessarily from the immediately previous event. For example, if a team has two sets of carryover tyres from the Sepang event it may carry-over one set to Buriram and another to Fuji or other
later event. If a team is going to use a carry-over set of tyres from a previous event for the car, the
team must bring the set to Pirelli for re-scanning into the new tyre barcode list for the car for that
event. Pirelli will enter this set as “Set 1” on the list and those tyres can only be used in free practice.
Pirelli will issue the team with 4 barcode lists, with all allocated tyres on the list in sets, one form is
to be signed and returned to Pirelli. Another list is for the team’s own use. The team must submit
one signed list to the Series Scrutineers before a cut time to be issued at each event, in any case at
least one hour before the start of free practice. All tyres on the list may be used in the free practice
and may be mixed between sets.
The team must submit a second signed list to the Series Scrutineers before a cut time to be issued at
each event, in any case at least one hour before the start of Qualifying 1. This list will have a
maximum of 3 sets of tyres (6 front and 6 rear) highlighted or marked by the team to be used during
Qualifying and the two Races.
Joker Tyre Procedure
Four additional Joker tyres per car will be permitted per season. These will only be available as
replacements for tyres nominated for the car for the event and damaged beyond safe use, other
than through the normal use. This must be agreed by the Series Eligibility Scrutineer before they are
used. Application for Joker tyres should be made in writing on the appropriate form available from
the SRO Office. Part 1 needs to be completed by the team concerned. The team needs to bring the
form to the Series Eligibility Scrutineer, whom may inspect the tyre concerned and may confirm that
the tyre is damaged beyond safe use, other than through the normal use. The team will then bring
the form to the series General Manager who may give approval for the purchase of a Joker Tyre.
With this approval the team will need to bring the form to Pirelli who will allocate a new tyre. The
completed form is to be returned to the SRO Office for administration.
2. Reminder Nets:
Please be reminded of the recent amendment to the FIA regulations regarding “Racing Nets”. Under
Article J 257A 14.9 dated 10-03-2017; the driver seated and with harnesses fully adjusted; and
rescue crew must be capable of releasing the racing nets. Nets are not compulsory for this series
but their use is strongly recommended.
3. On-Board Camera
If you intend to install on-board cameras, collect a Camera Form when signing on. Complete the
form and hand it to a Series Scrutineer at Initial Scrutineering for inspection and approval. Cameras
may only be installed inside the cockpit by being mounted to the Safety Cage using metal brackets or
metal hose clamps. Original camera manufacturer brackets may be used subject to the approval of a
Series Scrutineer. Cameras must not be mounted in a position that will interfere with the extrication
of a driver or obstruct/injure rescue personnel. Cameras must not be mounted on the exterior of the
vehicle except for one rear-view camera. This must be mounted securely with metal mountings to
the chassis and it must not protrude out of the bodywork of the car when viewed from any angle.
4. Endurance Options
It is allowable to use Options homologated by the FIA for Endurance races in this series. If you are
using a Variant Option please collect an Endurance Option Declaration Form when signing on and
complete the form listing the Homologation number as shown on the Homologation Form and the
part of the VO you will be using in the remarks column. Hand the completed form to a Series
Scrutineer before the start of Qualifying.
5. Driver’s Weight Forms
Collect a Driver’s Weight Form when signing on. Drivers must be wearing full Driver’s Safety
Equipment including Frontal Head Restraint and Helmet when being weighed. The completed form is
to be presented to a Series Scrutineer who will calculate any weight adjustments to the car. Be
prepared to add ballast as prescribed in Appendix J, Article 257A – 4.2 of the FIA Sporting Code.
6. Driver’s Safety Equipment
All Driver’s Safety Equipment for both driver’s will be checked at the same time during Initial
Scrutineering in the Scrutineering Bay, ideally at the same time the car is being checked. All sponsors
patches must be correctly sown on the racing suits with appropriate fire proof thread. Only having
the corners of the patches sewn on is not acceptable and the stitching thread must follow the full
perimeter of the patch.
7. Initial Scrutineering
Present your car during the Initial Scrutineering time that will be posted on the notice board or
bulletined beforehand; the times may vary from event to event so be sure to note the end of initial

and racing numbers and in the condition ready to race. The fuel tank must be empty. Any cool suit
tanks must be empty or removed before weighing. Sufficient team personnel must be present to
assist in pushing the car up the scrutineering ramp and around the scrutineering bay. A full set of
Homologation Forms including Variant Options for the car must be at hand. Sufficient tools should
be brought to remove the Intake Restrictors for inspection and sealing or inspection of any other
equipment as instructed. Ensure all certificates such as extinguisher validity etc, are in full view and
are easy to read without the need for removal of the equipment.
8. Re-Scrutineering
Re-scrutineering time will be posted on the notice board or bulletined beforehand; the times may
vary from event to event so be sure to note the end of re-scrutineering date and time. Should the
car not pass initial scrutineering it must be represented during the re-scrutineering period or at a
time and location advised by a Series Scrutineer, with the error rectified.
9. Scrutineering Pass Stickers
A car that has passed Scrutineering will have a sticker applied by a Series Scrutineer. Do not cover,
remove, relocate or render this sticker invisible by any means during the event.
10. Parc Ferme
During Qualification, and the Races any car that does not finish will be under Parc Ferme conditions
until the team is informed by a Series Scrutineer; including a car that stopped on the circuit. Where
appropriate a Parc Ferme Card will be placed under the windscreen wiper of the car. All cars that
complete qualification and the races will follow the directions of the marshals. All cars will be under
Parc Ferme conditions until the team has been informed by a Series Scrutineer or a Series Scrutineer
removes the Parc Ferme Card. For any car selected for Post-Qualification or Post-Race Scrutineering
the team must provide sufficient team personnel to assist in pushing the car up the scrutineering
ramp and around the scrutineering bay. A team member with knowledge of the Ride Height
measuring points must also be present. A full set of Homologation Forms for the car must be at
hand. Sufficient tools should be brought to scrutineering for removing any equipment as instructed
by a Series Scrutineer.
