UMass Memorial Center for Complex Aortic Disease

UMass Memorial Center for Complex Aortic Disease
The Center for Complex Aortic Disease is directed by Andres Schanzer, MD. Dr. Schanzer is an accomplished
vascular surgeon who has received additional training from pioneers of complex endovascular surgery at several
leading centers around the world.
In addition, he has been the principal investigator on nine clinical trials for the
treatment of complex aortic aneurysms. He is one of only a very small group of
surgeons in the United States to develop a physician-sponsored clinical trial
evaluating custom made endografts and physician-modified endografts that allow for
the endovascular treatment of aneurysms not suitable for treatment with
commercially available devices.
