Friday 26 August 2011 First residents move into Peninsula Grange Australian Unity welcomed its first residents into its Peninsula Grange retirement community in Mornington this month. New residents Kevin and Susanne La Fontaine viewed floor plans for Peninsula Grange in August last year and knew within 20 minutes it was the place they wanted to live. The La Fontaines’ decided to make the move to independent living after Mr La Fontaine was seriously injured in a motorbike accident two years ago. “The accident caused permanent injury and we knew we could no longer maintain the home in which we had been living,” they said. “We are so excited to be the first people to settle and move in and know we have made the right decision. “The unit is spacious, very well fitted out with top quality appliances and we have everything we need—including home help should Kevin need it.” They said Australian Unity’s sales staff have been wonderful and the customer service they received has been excellent. Peninsula Grange’s design and village facilities help to create the perfect environment for residents to come home to and enhance their general wellbeing. Once complete, key features for the village will include; a community centre with an indoor heated lap pool, gym, hairdressing and beauty therapy room, a library, craft room and workshop. Other private facilities within the community include a practice bowling green, putting green, bocce area and outdoor barbecue areas. Peninsula Grange is set on 17 hectares and upon completion will comprise approximately 278 independent living units. ends For further information please contact Sarah Kulman, Australian Unity’s Public Affairs Adviser on 0400 006 295.
