For parcels over 1kg that are square or rectangular in shape, Australia Post will assess charges
according to their actual weight or cubic weight equivalent, whichever is greater. The cubic weight
is the parcel’s volume in cubic metres multiplied by 250. Australia Post reserves the right to also
apply cubic charges to a parcel weighing less than 1kg, and to parcels that are irregular or
cylindrical in shape. Where an article is lodged which is in excess of the weighing capacity of an
Australia Post retail outlet, an agreed charge will be applied which is fair and reasonable in all the
circumstances. Where agreement cannot be reached, the office may refuse to accept the article.

Note: Check that you are using the correct charges sheet for the postcode of the office of lodgement.
Then determine zone for postcode of destination and refer to Table 1 for relevant charge.

to revision from time to time and services may be modified, added to or withdrawn. Up-to-date information may be

Letter Post
Imprint mail / Metered mail
There are two delivery timetables available for letters within Australia, Regular and Priority.
To send as Priority, affix one Priority label next to the postage stamp, concession stamp/s or postage paid
image on prepaid envelopes. Priority labels can be purchased at a cost of $0.50 each from any post office
or auspost.com.au/shop. Available in singles, booklets of five or sheets of twenty.
