Care to Learn
Preschool
November 2016
READING ROCKS!
We love to read at preschool. Your children have been enjoying weekly visits to the North
Star library, where they listen to stories read by the librarian, Miss Wolvengrey. Keep your
eyes out for our monthly scholastic book orders, they are on a table in our lobby
Snacks
Thank you to those parents who have been sending
healthy snacks for your children to enjoy. FYI, many
students are not finishing their juice boxes. If parents want
to pack water bottles, staff can fill it up for the students, or
we can give them water in a cup.
Customs and Traditions
If your family has a custom or tradition, please share them with us. The
preschool would be happy to host you in order to learn all about the custom
or tradition. We love learning about different cultures!
Topics and
Themes:
In the Kitchen
Letters E, F, G, H
Remembrance

Independence
One important goal for children as they branch off from family and embark on
new adventures, is to help them increase their independence. Parents and
guardians can help their children by allowing them to find and gently open
their own lockers, as well as letting them put on their own shoes. At home
they can start learning to put on their winter clothing, it really helps the staff
get the students outside in a more timely manner. With that said, please try
to give students items that are easy to put on (ie: mittens instead of fingered
gloves).
