Introducing MyFinancialAid! Students are be able to accept their awards, submit applications, and download the forms necessary to complete their financial aid file via MyFinancialAid. MyFinancialAid can be accessed from MYUMO. Students will log into MYUMO with the same user name and password they would use to access their UMO e-mail. Once logged into MYUMO, there is a link on the home page and the Finances tab for MyFinancialAid. Students must have a financial aid record already established at the University of Mount Olive in order to use this system. Financial aid records are created by two methods. Every week the financial aid office uploads information from the admissions office and new students that have been accepted will have a record created. The second way a financial aid record can be created is the receipt of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). If students have not begun the financial aid application process, they can get started by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid online. Students will need to enter our school code, 002949, on their application; doing so will ensure that UMO will automatically receive a copy. Once UMO receives information from either of these methods, a record will automatically be created in MyFinancialAid. The FAProfile tab houses the agreement to the requirements for any institutional scholarship that is based on academic merit. Students not receiving a scholarship based on academic merit will still complete this tab for general financial aid purposes and Business Office agreements. Once students complete the form, they will need to click “Submit.” MyProfile tab (continued): The first time students log into the system, they must click on the accept awards tab to accept the terms and conditions, and then click submit. Once the general terms and conditions have been accepted students will click on home to return to the home page. Currently the home page is being used to publicize the disbursement and refund schedule. Scrolling down on the home page will provide students with additional information on documents and messages. Clicking on any one of these items will take students to the page with which they are associated. Students can also access other areas by clicking on the tabs across the top of the home page. Accept Awards. Prior to seeing the financial aid awards, students will need to read and accept the Award Terms and Conditions. Once students have agreed to and accepted the award terms and conditions, the Accept Awards tab will display their budget and financial aid awards. Students will be able to accept or decline all awards, or each individual award. In addition, students will have the option to reduce Federal Work Study and the Federal Direct Loan amount until they have submitted the initial acceptance of the financial aid package. Finally, the students will click the submit button. Once the awards have been accepted, the students will need to contact their financial aid counselor for changes. The next screen will list any documents we need from students. The documents that are underlined can be downloaded and printed by the student. Once the students have the documents printed they should complete the document(s) and return it to the financial aid office. The Messages tab will include any messages that would normally have appeared in students’ award letters. The Loans tab will detail information for the students’ loans for the academic year selected. The Loan History tab should detail the total amount students have taken in Federal Stafford and Federal Direct loans. The information comes from the FAFSA we have loaded in our database which is updated by the National Student Loan Data System. We have provided a link to the National Student Loan Data System (student access). Do not use the Forms tab. It exists so we can provide links to the needed documents, but it lists all documents. It is much easier to utilize the Documents tab and download only those forms that are required. The Disbursements tab will detail the students’ awards by semester, and once financial aid has disbursed the funds, students will be able to see the amount disbursed and the date of the disbursement. The Lifetime Awards tab gives an account of the totals for various aid types that students have received at the University of Mount Olive.
