As I am sure you are all aware the Alberta Government has announced the implementation of a
NEW Carbon Tax
Effective on January 1st, 2017. It will affect ALL diesel, gasoline, natural gas, propane purchases
and utilities .The rates on major fuels are as follows:
Unfortunately all of the above listed increases will adversely affect the transportation industry
and will have an immediate impact on all transportation providers and their customers.
We have no alternative but to implement a CARBON SURCHARGE which will come into effect
on January 1st, 2017 to coincide with the New Carbon Tax.
We will be charging 1% of the freight charges as a Carbon Surcharge which will show up as a
separate line item on all invoices as of January 1st, 2017.
On January 1st, 2018 the Carbon Surcharge will increase to 1.5 % of the freight charges to
offset the additional CARBON TAX increase in 2018.
Our goal is to keep our customers informed and enable you to budget ahead of time on the
CARBON SURCHARGE structure in this already very difficult economy.
