My Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
I am happy to say that we are able to report to you the results of this year’s Festival. You
will find it on page 6 of today’s bulletin. Once again, I want to thank everyone, and in a
most particular way, Eileen Gerome, for a job well done. Given the economy and the expenses that exist in this kind of endeavor, I think we did quite well. Thank you one and all.
Please note, as well, that we will have our annual Blessing of Animals on Saturday, September 29, at 1 o’clock in the front yard of the church. This is a beautiful custom that was
part of the spiritual patrimony of St. Margaret Mary Parish. Please bring your pet for the
blessing.
As part of the Year of Faith we will begin the “Catholicism” Series by
Fr. Robert Barron. This has been very well received in other parishes and we are happy to offer it to you. We are bringing this as
part of an endeavor here at Sacred Heart of Jesus which we call
“Reaffirming the Faith” or RTF in shorthand. Please look for more
information about this series in the weeks to come.

Finally, I would like to call your attention to the insert in this week’s bulletin. On one side is
an information sheet on a recycling fundraiser the parish is holding on October 13 and 14.
The parish can raise money and help to protect the environment at the same time. The
other side is an invitation to the PTC Fall fundraiser, “Night at the Races,” to benefit the
Academy. Please consider participating in both of these events if you are able.
May God’s Blessings be yours this week.
Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us.

lead our great country. Please take time to find out where
candidates stand on the issues of religious freedom and life.
And, be ready to cast your vote on November 6. Regarding
religious freedom: Some candidates support the HHS Mandate which could fine our Catholic charities, hospitals, and
schools into bankruptcy if they refuse to violate core Catholic
beliefs.
Regarding life: Some candidates value life from conception to
natural death and others clearly do not.
The deadline for registering to vote is October 9. The deadline to turn in an absent voter application is November 3.

We will meet in the Church parking lot at 12:45 p.m. and proceed
