The Wright Museum’s collections were started in
1893 with a gift. Since then, friends from the
community and Beloit College alumni have given
generously to the Wright, building the collection
to its current size. The generosity continues with
gifts that are making possible the conservation of
important pieces in the collections and the
acquisitions of new works of art.

never too early to introduce your children to art. The
Wright offers scheduled activities for children and can

and open a window onto the world.
Rekindle your own love of art. The Wright
Museum’s permanent collections include works by
the old masters and the impressionists, as well as
modern art. Areas of concentration include
American impressionism, modernist paintings,
German expressionism, Japanese modern prints,
and a collection of 19th-century plaster casts, first
exhibited in the 1893 World’s Columbian
Exhibition in Chicago. The Wright also holds works
by Midwestern artists, such as Theodore Robinson,
Franklin Boggs, and John Colt. Take a tour of the
museum and learn more about these artists, or
