Share The Wright Museum’s collections were started in 1893 with a gift. Since then, friends from the community and Beloit College alumni have given generously to the Wright, building the collection to its current size. The generosity continues with gifts that are making possible the conservation of important pieces in the collections and the acquisitions of new works of art. Learn With more than 5,000 works of art and four galleries, there is always something new at the Wright Museum of Art. The museum is open during the week and on weekends, and admission is always free of charge. The Wright Museum is the perfect place to start your weekend or to stop by on a Sunday afternoon. Play Escape the summer heat; plan a winter activity. It’s never too early to introduce your children to art. The Wright offers scheduled activities for children and can accommodate groups. The Wright Museum is in your neighborhood, ready to enhance your child’s education and open a window onto the world. Rekindle your own love of art. The Wright Museum’s permanent collections include works by the old masters and the impressionists, as well as modern art. Areas of concentration include American impressionism, modernist paintings, German expressionism, Japanese modern prints, and a collection of 19th-century plaster casts, first exhibited in the 1893 World’s Columbian Exhibition in Chicago. The Wright also holds works by Midwestern artists, such as Theodore Robinson, Franklin Boggs, and John Colt.
