CHROMOPHARE F 300: innovative lighting technology for a better view of the
patient
Examine under optimal lighting conditions
Tuttlingen, 16 August 2011 - In September, medical device manufacturer BERCHTOLD will
bring a treatment and examination light with the latest generation of high-performance LEDs
to the market. With its LED lighting technology, the CHROMOPHARE F 300 offers optimal
lighting almost without reflections and shadows, ideal colour reproduction of the patient's
tissue and low power consumption. Efficient LEDs reduce operating costs significantly,
protect the eyes of the therapist and let him/her work in a more focused and safer manner.
Total reflection produces homogeneous light
Seven LED optical systems mix the light from the CHROMOPHARE F 300 and guide a light
field 16 centimetres in diameter onto the surgical field. So-called total reflection and
integrated Fresnel lenses achieve optimal lighting and reduce coloured hue shadows to a
minimum. This makes the light field homogeneous and deep incisions are well lit. With a
colour temperature of 4,500 Kelvin, the CHROMOPHARE F 300 generates neutral white
light. The surgeon can thus clearly distinguish between different tissues. Good lighting
shortens the procedure time and reduces the cost per patient. The 30-watt high-performance
LEDs last up to 30,000 hours, offer high reliability and investment security and are also very
energy efficient.
Versatile and flexible handling
The surgeon positions the CHROMOPHARE F 300 with a handle that is located on the side
of the light head. After the examination, the handle is removed and sterilized. Using an
additional peripheral rail, the surgical staff can also adjust the light from outside the sterile
area. Smooth, seamless surfaces simplify cleaning and maintenance of the light. The
CHROMOPHARE F 300 can be mounted on walls or ceilings and can be equipped with a
single or double arm. The far-reaching arms with 270 ° rotation ensure optimum light
availability from the head to the foot of the patient bed. It is also optionally available as a
mobile light with a movable stand.
