Helmet Rule for Sask Cup 2016/17
This rule will apply to any participant in the Sask Cup Races
U12 and older.
Starting at the beginning of the 16/17 season Sask Alpine will be enforcing the new
helmet regulations brought in by FIS and Alpine Canada. All Racers U12 and older
racing in the Sask Cup Races will be required to wear a helmet with the FIS sticker
affixed to the helmet. Those racers that have older helmets with the FIS sticker not
under the gel coat are permitted to race with that helmet. The following is
clarification received from Alpine Canada.
As long as the helmet has the approved FIS sticker affixed in the
correct location on the helmet it is appropriate to be worn. For
those athletes who do not have a new helmet where the sticker is
under the clear coat, they must be advised that the helmet can be
taken for testing to ensure it is legal and not a falsified sticker.
All racers will be checked prior to entering the start gate to ensure they have the
proper helmet. If they do not have a FIS sticker they will not be permitted to start.
Below is a picture of what the sticker looks like.
